From the outside looking in, definitely looks like RR reported misinformation about Mendy

I think this is the most serious our reserves (u21s) have been taken in quite a long time, last year we got the the cup final and it got quite a lot of views on youtube, quite a few of the players are well known, the reserves thread on here for example gets plenty of traffic when the season is underway. If you mean the u21 naming convention, well that's so we're eligible to join the leagues, everyone does u21 now, some of the lesser clubs still do u23 but that's considered an inferior competition.

I'm of the opinion that if we're adopting the same playing style throughout our teams, and we have a competitive league(U21s) for non-first team players and up and coming younger lads, what is the value in sending them out on loan to other clubs who don't have the same philosophy and taking them away from their familiar club environment, other than saving a bit on wages.

The obvious benefit to players being loaned is the experience they'll get in terms of being in a new environment, new training ground, new group of players, new part of the country, all valuable lessons for life and maturity in addition to adapting to a new style of football. Styles come and go, Pep-ball won't be forever and the best players will learn to adapt when that comes.

Sunderland () is paying close attention to Jeremía Recoba and an offer may arrive these days.

Me too! There was a mix of players....first team not being picked, first team coming back from injury, young players hoping to impress to be considered for first team.
Competitive matches with loads of quality and interest. I knew people who would go to home matches and reserve home matches.....in fact,I seem to remember being able to buy a season ticket to include both....I'm probably wrong in that?
You are right, mate. I had a season ticket for years at Roker Park and it always included reserve games, plus priority for cup games.
