We could upgrade in every positon, definitely think O'nien is a competent top end champ defender. As well think any replacement they did buy would be below 24 and relatively inexperienced, O'nien is the oldest of our current starting 11

Show me this underlying data that shows his defensive stats are good compared to other CB’s? You could just open your eyes when you’re at the match to be fair and you’ll see him constantly wandering out of position like a headless chicken, wrestling his man because he’s incapable of winning a header, falling over himself when the balls played in behind.. as long as he can pass a ball though :emoticon-0136-giggl

He makes some silly decisions in terms of wrestling his man and nearly giving away pens but outside of that there's no issue with him, I like what I see when I watch him as well not just the data. He's in the top percentiles for Tackles Won, Duels won, Recoveries and interceptions, about top 15-20% for aerial duels as well

I’m in the wrong business!, Obviously not as clued up but, if I was negotiating, it’d be a % of the profit! Ensure I recouped what I’d spent if the market reduced.

I keep seeing people say we need a defensive midfielder - could O'nien not fulfill that role? played in defense and midfield? Good passer of the ball and can get up and down the pitch.

Would be good there imo, also good in defence obviously. It'll be interesting to see Le Brie's opinion on the squad and what he does with them. Presumably he doesn't have many preconceived ideas about them.

Sure I read a while ago the two scouts that post on here reckon that DM isn't his position. ? What about Traintis as DM he's been used in that role on loan to Hibs. Think we'll be buying one anyway. Could easily see 8-10 squad moves in the window.
