I've said it before but in my opinion they've been one of the main contributors to the present mentality of a significant proportion of our (online) fanbase and in creating the adversarial relationship they now have with the club. I'm not talking about criticism of the club, that's always been there and is healthy and should be encouraged when it's informed, constructive and proportionate but what's now pervasive isn't healthy or productive at all, it will only ever be detrimental to any hopes of progress.
I think the difference is that your posts come from a deep, longstanding affection and belonging with the club. There are a number on here who come from the same direction. All your collective posts are expressing a concern about the club we love. Not to be confused with those who arrive on here to peddle their pre-conceived, mischievous vitriol, designed to disrupt and sow seeds of doubt amongst the most feeble minded within our group.
Just back from trip up in the hills and missed it all quite refreshing having no internet access to be honest First impression was a bit deflated. Has set my heart on Cifuentes thought he was the man for the job and had dismissed RDB based on nothing but his wiki stats to be honest. Catching up can start to see the logic and also the time line of the delay. Still know very little about him but a year ago he was being looked at by Leeds and was close to joining Nice Absolutely no idea if he will work but he has the development background to bring on the young lads My worry would be is he a good coach and not strong tactically saw that with Beale and Dodds. Hopefully he has learned he has seen both success and failure in his two years. Absolutely no point moaning about what might have been and who we should have got. He’s here now and maybe just maybe like some of the players Clarke in particular we have unearthed a gem that other clubs have written off Time will tell
You and me both mate....over the years I've never really been able to find the words to explain to anyone how much it is a huge part of my life!
The being an amazing coach and putting on the best coaching sessions ever! Was something that set alarm bells ringing about Beale when Speakman talked about him! Hopefully it isn't a weakness the new bloke has because all the rest is ****ing pointless if he is ****e tactically. Love to get a manager (not getting into calling him head coach) who not only sets up really well tactically depending on who we play but also can see when it's not working and change it during the 90 minutes. The second bit is probably the one you get less managers being good at!
Fat chance marra... Caught a bit of late bbc north Korea last night with thewlis and in 15 to 20 words managed to mention the relegation with lorient
For most of us,....if this is confirmed....the key to the announcement will be where Dodds and Proctor end up.
Agree think this is the big transition from coach to manager I think this takes time if he’s any good he’ll reflect and learn from his mistakes. He seems a good character so I’m hopeful. Beale was never going to learn or adjust his tactics his response to criticism at both rangers and Sunderland was to just double down
I very much doubt it, RTG is a tiny few hundred posters in among our near 40,000 regular fans, most of whom won't have a clue about these messages boards. Fans forums like RTG have a massively over inflated idea of their own importance I think, always pretending they speak for all the fans, when in reality they're mostly an annoying noise in the background.
Not for me tbh. The key is the manager, his staff and what backing he gets .... ... Dodds and Proctor should fade into the background and do what the boss asks them to do.
Yes,agree. Didn't mean to mislead....my post didn't properly express my thoughts in that,if RLB brings his own people, where does that leave Dodds and Proctor.
It's a natural reaction of the fanbase when a club gets relegated that they want rid of the manager, DOF and sometimes the board, without actually analysing why they got relegated. In Le Bris' case, the evidence points to selling their best players and not replacing them adequately, which is down to the DOF and the board imo.
