Southgate should have went after the final against Italy.
Instead all we hear is how we get further than we used to under him. Yeah but look at the talent he has at his disposal, it's a disgrace he didn't see the last Euros over the line. Instead of pressing the advantage we sat back and allowed them to re-group, re-organise and change tact. It's what England do under him too often!
Kane, Foden, Saka and Bellingham are all stand out players at some of the best clubs in world football and in and England shirt they are Anonymous!

England have been very poor in both games but 4 points is still a really good return. They dont need to be at their best now but at some point theyll need to be.
The concern i would have for England fans is there doesnt appear to be a game plan in or out of possession. In possession its so slow n players dont seem to be creating space for each other - now some of that will be on the players but when so many arent doing it, it comes down to the game plan.
Out of possession, there are far too many gaps between the lines n opponents CBs are able to step oit easily with the ball - do that against the elite nations and they dont stand the chance.
Kane is one of the best strikers in the world - possibly the best - but i think hes an issue for this England team. He doesnt look match fit, is coming so deep when England have it, isnt starting the press n he seems to be dropping into teammates space.
Obviously its hard to drop him because he is world class but if you are starting him then you need to play to his strengths. Gordon probably would need to start, as he will run in behind. Id also drop bellingham deeper, feel hes better coming from a deeper position.
I actually think England would be better going 433 n having 2 CMs running from deep n getting them going beyond Kane when he doee drop in
Rice Gallagher n bellingham would be my 3, i know folk want the 2 younger lads but just feel that 3 has energy n power to unsettle teams running from deep
RM is a tough one, id atill start Foden, he was good tonight imo and he is genuinely world class at club level.
Hope palmer gets on the pitch in the next game as hes been a joy to watch this season

When I saw Bowen come on I thought palmer must of been injured. Stunned he wasn’t given his chance tonight. I would have had gordon coming on the left and palmer on the right for Jude and saka, foden in the 10. Poor afternoon for all involved, fortunately we’re still in control of the group and hopefully can put it in right by the time the knockouts come around.
I hope this makes all the Southgate followers see how inept he is now.
Once again absolutely nothing down the left side. The fact Mitchell, Doughty or even Leif Davis weren't even considered and in the preliminary squad is crazy. We've taken one left back who won't be fully fit until maybe the quarter finals. Should at least be playing Gordon left wing to hold the width.
We have got further in major tournaments with Southgate for 1 reason.
We have better players.

Absolute nonsense mate. Unless he is telling them to keep passing to Denmark, or overhit / underhit passes.
You know your football, you have done your badges and have coached. Tell me you are not, as a coach, asking them why they were so technically inneffective tonight? Why they couldnt control the ball pass it on the deck, show any energy.
We literally heard Walker at the end telling us Southgate instructions are to play open attacking football. But they as players assess the game and adjust when Denmark push hard. He has literally given you an insight into tournament mentality of players.
Southgate was clearly fed up. He replaced his captain and arguably two of the most talented attacking players, all in one go. They werent doing their jobs. They were poor.
All this Southgate noise is frankly mad. It is reminicent of Beale. He isnt paticularly flamboyant, therefore he is getting it wrong. Did you see Franke trying not to explain in words of more than two syallbles to the pundits why they were misunderstanding tactics. Maybe too many get carried away with Shearer shouting for us to go 1v1 at the back because we have brilliant defenders, or Lineker spouting his lazy rhetoric about years of this. I laughed out loud when Ferdinand actually said the players need to play like they do at their clubs, then to follow up with but I didnt do it so know the problems and how hard it is, then had nothing more to add.
Bottom line tonight is players were crap. Southgate changed the players, tweaked the way we played, and the players continued being crap. No doubt, if we win the next game, it will be inspite of Southgate. I think folk need a serious reality check on their view of coaches and how they work, it is entirely unbalanced and unrealistic on the part of some.
Do, the players go against Southgate and sit on leads and completely ignore his instruction for 3 tournaments straight then?

Who is too blame ?
Why is playing the team soon deep.
Why is he panting Foden out on the left.
Why is Kane dropping so low.
Why is there no pace running through central areas.

He is the common denominator and was a shocking club manager.
He was brought in as an interim to integrate the young lads he’d had. To stick with him has been a massive balls up.
Absolutely not. We had a better squad in Italia 90. We had a better squad in Euro 96. Some, not me, would argue Sven amd Cappello had an elite squad.
The problem might be the media keep telling us we have the best league. Apparently, Man City are the best team om the planet, despite not being able to do it in Europe. Maybe, jusy maybe, other teams have really good sides as well
In the here and now we have a far better squad than we are showing. We can’t go back to 1990.
There were some really average players in them squads.
Tell me how Gallagher and Bowen are better shouts that Palmer when we need a spark.
I’ll refer to the final v Italy till I die. They were 1-0 down and we pressed for 20 mins they were gone, then he reined us in and they found their feet and we ****ed it.
He is not good enough. He is not brave enough. He doesn’t know how to set us up to dominate and we absolutely have the players to do so.
We have played a poor Serbia and an ageing Denmark. This hasn’t been v Spain, France or Germany.
