The daft thing is about that……obviously not the monorail but all of those were a fanny hair away. Poyet had all but signed, same as Still. We know how close Dell was. It’s the Safc way of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
I need to work harder on this, especially as the 'war' is so one-sided. I go on there to find info and see loads of offensive posts about us. I go on here and see no insults aimed at them... until I post
Yes, are but you also need experienced players in the squad from them to learn from either in a game or during training otherwise they are just learning from kids themselves
Foden may aswell go home. Terrified defences all season playing in the middle for Man City......played out wide for England.
TAA isn’t a midfielder Cording to the mags Pickford is to blame for the goal but nee surprises there England won’t win anything in my life time everything this crap Screw the beer I need rum
Played wide for City more often than he played centrally this season, just on the right. Much better manager may well be the issue https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/phil-foden/leistungsdaten/spieler/406635
Hope it's not Le Bris like. He's on the verge of the sack at Lorient, and the Lorient fans don't even want him. Just doesn't make sense why we might be interested in him. Lorient were relegated last season with the 13th highest squad value, so it's a pretty big failure. Granted, the season before when they did well their squad value ranked 9th...but still, despite selling £50m worth of players, they still spent £30m, so it's not like he wasn't backed. It's far more than he'd get here.
I get that, but my issue with it is that we would be hiring him directly on the back of a relegation. The club have no idea if he's able to learn from his mistakes.
Fair point mate. But it looks like his best players were all sold then expected to replace them. It probably won’t even be him I bet ha
They spent 30m but the players brought in aren’t as good as the ones that went out wouldn’t even say it was close. Moffi is a quality striker and they replaced him with a €5m striker
Like I said though, he was still backed to the tune of £30m, as well as bringing in a few decent players on a free (Mendy, Bakayoko, Faivre). His squad was far from one of the worst in the league and he shouldn't have got relegated. We might very well be paying compensation for a coach who might have got sacked had we not shown interest.
And what do you think it's going to be like here? All that shows is that he's not particularly great at finding hidden gems. Do you think we'll spend £20m+ of the money we'll get for Clarke? Of course we won't.
