I think it’ll be Rosenior now the Burnley and Leicester jobs aren’t happening for him. Not sure there’s much else for him so both sides need each other, we’ll appoint him on reduced terms.
Athletic saying he's still in for the Burnley job. Lampard ruled out of it

Just had an email from the club reminding me that my direct debit will be taken on July 1st.

I know that'll be an automated email of course, but it's bad timing when tensions are this high :emoticon-0102-bigsm

It's so tempting to cancel.
Hollllllld, hollllllldd (imagine we are in a trench and it’s so tempting to just run away but the end of the war is ending …. Imminently)

When the class of 92 came through in 1995 they had Schmeichel, Bruce, Irwin, Pallister, Cantona etc who were all over 30. Ince, Keane, Cole etc who were all between 25-30 iirc. So you had a few younger players who became regulars amongst a very experienced squad.

Just to add to this, you look at Man City and you think Foden is the bairn of their squad. He’d be the 2nd oldest player in our regular Xl.

I am not denying that you need some experience players, but to get experience you need to play. If your young and good enough them give them game time and Foden is a great example of that

When our supporters say they want experience in the squad, they actually mean they want better. And there is a massive difference.

I honestly think the experience for me would just be players with actual games played. The only reason people are clamoring for it is because most of the players we signed last summer hadn't played much senior football at all. The windows before that we signed Hume, Ballard, Cirkin, Clarke, Simms, Joffy, Michut, Huggins etc these were all young players that have done well for us. Granted Joffy didn't score many but he worked hard, linked up well and would have been a lot better if Stewart wasn't injured.

This is the market we need to go back to shopping in, young players but players that have had plenty of senior games under their belt. It's quite a difference going from Stewart/Simms/Joffy to Hemir/Mayenda/Rusyn

People need to realise that sometimes just throwing out the best eleven players in your squad isn’t what wins football matches. Chemistry, naivety, general know-how that comes with experience drags you over the line often. Players who do the dirty work, bark orders at the inexperienced/younger lads, know how to dictate the pace of a game or break it up when we’re under the cosh. We had absolutely none of that last season and before someone says O’nien please put your head in the bin and don’t bother :emoticon-0102-bigsm

We could do with a few older heads for sure but more players coming in that have played many games no matter the age would have helped a lot more too

… Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

I recognise those words, they're from the Spike Milligan memoirs, 'Dark side of the Goon' ...

... I believe it was a follow up to 'Hitler and my part in his concept album' <whistle>
