He had all charges dropped, though.

Is that where we are now, if somebody is accused that's it, done?

We've signed some right dickheads over the years, is it just the ones that get media attention that people don't want?

I disagree. Even if they were acquitted or had charges dropped, I still personally wouldn’t like someone like Ched Evans or Mason Greenwood at the club.

Would you have been content if Emre Belözoğlu was hired as Rosenior’s replacement? Even if he’s a decent manager, I think that would be enough for me to cancel my membership. David Goodwillie signing for Raith Rovers caused a massive backlash from supporters, board members, club staff and the affiliated women’s team.

the charges were dropped because his girlfriend withdrew her testimony even though the video evidence suggested otherwise - which is why no one wants to sign him - he's a little turd

Anyone who’s heard the recordings can make their own moral judgement though. The law has a higher burden of proof because the consequences are a potential loss of freedom for years of a person’s life. However, in the court of public opinion, people are well within their rights to be outraged and disgusted by Greenwood and not want him at their club.

No, because he was found guilty of being a huge racist. Goodwillie was also found guilty of being a rapist.

Chair is appealing his verdict anyway and it isn't all done, I just think if by some miracle he doesn't go to prison, and he can play, I'd take him at City.

Goodwillie wasn’t charged in a criminal court but found liable in a civil suit.

Is it just the conviction that matters then? Like I said, the burden of proof in criminal cases is high because the stakes are high. That doesn’t mean people can’t make a moral judgement of their own.

No, that's true. But you look at Luke McCormick, who drove drunk and ended up killing two kids, he went on to make another 214 appearances in the EFL and I think he's a coach now. So why did he get a second chance, when other players don't for less?

Now then Rerver. I wasn't aware you were partial to perusing the pages of the HDM. I thought you were more of a Telegraph sort of chap.

I don’t think McCormick deserved to continue playing football after serving his time. Does that mean I think he shouldn’t deserve a second chance in general? No, but I don’t think that second chance should’ve been as a professional footballer.

In our profession, we’re not covered under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. If we commit a serious offence, we’re struck off from teaching for life. Why should footballers be allowed a second chance of such a privileged career?
