"A few lucky wins" and "Punching above their ability", I have never read such ignorance and to be truthful, tommyrot, on this forum before.
We are at the top of the table on merit, as we have been the best and most consistant team in the division (and not one lucky win from the matches I have witnessed). Just because we have come up from League One, doesn't mean we have a League One squad. The truth is that the squad are improving and like Norwich before us, have yet to find its' true level. I would never comment on the performance of Hull, as I haven't seen them play yet, but I can say, without a hint of bias that we deserve to be where we are and have every chance of promotion.

The French Tickler is extremely positive about City all the time, and whatever happens it makes him think we are on our way to the PL, I'm very positive myself but even I think he gets a bit carried away. He comes across as a WUM but I don't think he means it, he just likes to think we're going to win every game. The point I made and his are totally seperate. I don't know anything about how lucky or unlucky you may have been, I just think the worst thing for Hull City to do tomorrow night would be to go and respect Southampton, because that's exactly what you prey on. We need to go there and show you how good we are and try to make you scared, we have a young and inexperienced manager and after a crushing defeat at the weekend my worry is that he could set us up all timid and fearful to try and keep yu out for 90 minutes which would play into your hands. Fans on message boards are hardly going to affect how the team set up, I know that, but I just think if our fans are overly fearful of the game it could spread from there. We should copy how you have got where you are, which is the mentality that you are as good as anyone. I think we have been doing exactly that at times this season but I just worry that after the Burnley game and with a young manager we could get a bit doubtful of our abilities. Maybe I'm talking bollocks but it's just how I see it.

I'm not trying to have a dig at Saints in any way though.

Fair enough and i agree you should go for it and not try and contain us,we are beatable and you should definitely attack us! we'll get more space then <ok>

I fancy a sneaky 2-1 win to City. Southampton to go ahead early and become over-confident due to their home record. City will equalise late on and while Southampton are still getting over the shock we'll grab the winner.

We don't throw away leads. Every game which we haven't won this season, we have gone 1-0 down in.

We don't do 0-0 nils. We don't throw away leads.

3-0 Southampton now that we know the Goulash is in goal. They'll just keep pumping in the high balls and Lambert will make mincemeat of him. Back-4's confidence is destroyed.

Get well soon Adriano...and sign Mannone in January Nicky!!

Massive test. I don't think it's unreasonable to say that anything other than defeat would be very welcome.

Unfortunately, I can't see much in this for us. For me, we need to be bold and fight fire with fire. We can mix it in terms of decent, attacking football - but keeping them out is gonna be a tough ask. Fingers crossed.

I'm trying so hard to be reasonable here but what do you mean lucky wins? i'm close to being lost for words actually.

maybe you need to take off those rose tinted specs. enjoy what you have done as you dont know when it may end. lets all look forward to a cracking game eh and worry about the league table further on down the track.

your the ******. yes we have and very unlucky to lose all 3. not as though those 3 loses were bad efforts. may i suggest you give your head a bang :headbang::headbang:

Maybe so for Barnsley and West Ham but we were our own worst enemies and saturday, and it could still linger going into the next match.

looking at Hull my impression is that when Pearson was in charge you were very solid and maybe won a game by the odd goal but now i get the impression that Barmby wants you to start playing with more freedom,i know it's only been a couple of games since he has taken over but that's the impression i get,if so then it should be a very entertaining game tomorrow.Under the floodlights in all, love a night game!

yes it will be a cracker if both teams play like they can do. the real winners will be the paying public.

since barmby took over the shackles have come off. 4 goals scored in 2 games says it all. in the previous 5 games under pearson we just scored 5 goals an ave of 1 a game. Shocking return.

Surely winning, by any means possible, matters more than how many you score. For that instance you can't have a go at Pearson on his previous record.

Don't take it personally, Tickler always posts this cringey stuff to other clubs, everyone's rubbish except us apparently.

what utter rubbish. i am happy that its not west ham who are top like everyone said they would be before a ball was kicked. its nothing personal just a view ive got from what ive seen of southampton. no hate from me at all.

as for cingey stuff olm your phones are ringing in the kettle and pot dept. <ok>

Your logic is escaping me Tickler.....the way Saints play at home is that we average just less than 3 goals a game. So that means you would have to score 4 to beat us

Twenty-four goals scored at home this season....at the moment. I note you havn't conceded many at the mo, similar to Brighton...until they played us in our last home game where we scored 3 to nothing. You say your forwards are now moving into top form ?? On what basis do you justify that statement - your team has scored 9 goals TOTAL away all season. It sounds to me like scoring 2 at home on Sat has made you delirious <laugh>

2-1 Saints which will keep up your goal a game record COYS

well lets see what happens then shall we. ive made my prediction for the game as 2-1 hull city. may the best team win.
