I'd take 1-0 Saints now if offered. As a lot of people have said this whole game/league is down to psychology and confidence. The one thing we lack (which has shown up away from home but not at home yet) is pace, and we seem to struggle when teams with pacy players out wide attack and manage to pin Fox and Richardson back. The reason for this is that while both are good crossers of the ball at this level, neither is actually brilliant at defending. If they get pinned back, they're not only likely to be made look average at their defensive duties, but our attacking will look very one dimensional and easier to stop through the middle. Anyway, I think that we will still need some minor changes in Jan (sign Jos permanently, a pacy forward such as Maynard, and maybe even look at how we play out wide in midfield). Personally I'd like to see Harding at LB with Fox at LM and Lallana in the hole more often. Wouldn't want us to lose the home run (which we will at some point) after such an abject display away from home, as the doubts would really creep in should that happen. Consistency, and bouncing back quickly after a match where it's gone wrong has got to be the key. Lat
This is the type of game City will go and get something from but having said that Southampton aren't top by chance! I think Cameron Stewart is the key and if we attack them from the off then we may surprise them! First goal wins it IMO
Look no further than Cameron Stewart, he's been out for 9 months, came back at Derby last week and scored, then got an assist this weekend. He seems to be just as dangerous as before the injury and with Brady on the other side (very quick and very good at his best but much less consistent than Stewart) we could try to do exactly what you've said.
YES. I think that City will win. I dont buy into all this Southampton Pontification from the national media on how good Southampton are. They are punching above there ability and have had a few lucky wins. They lost @ Bristol and the way they play will be ideal for Hull City to bounch back after the Burnley game. With Mclean back and i assume a straight swap for the suspended Mckenna, NB will probably go with a 4 - 4 - 2 formation. Really looking forward to this one. Hull fans are not the only ones who have distance to travel tuesday. West Ham play @ Middlesboro at the same time. now who programmed the fixture computer i wonder ? for those who will listen online / radio.... Burnsie is not going down for this game. I am led to beleave it will be Matt Dean and Swanny for this game. UTT
Why is Burnsy not going, don't they have pies in Southampton? Following Saturday's **** up, I expect the lads will be looking to make amends, but against a good Southampton side who are themselves smarting from a loss, it won't be easy. I wouldn't be surprised if it's like the Brighton game, some very good football from two sides who cancel themselves out. 1-1
I would be happy with a draw, but feel they could even get a win, as Saint's are bound to have an off day at home sometime.
due to his morning show as he has to be back to do it. luckily it wont bother me either way. radio folks will have to make do with matt dean. lol
They should just announce that Gwylim is his guest for the morning show and no-one will listen anyway.
Absolutely no idea of a result or score after Saturday. Anything can happen. Hoping for 0 - 1 Black and Amber win.
For Saints, an interesting decision for NA who to bring in for Chaplow. I think I'd keep Guly where he is, bring in Schneiderlin to the middle and move Cork out wide for this one keeping De Ridder and Barnard in reserve. That would be my only change from Sat giving the same players a chance to put things right Have noted City's away form is decent but going for a close 2-1 win for the saints
Am hoping for a hat full but will settle for an ugly 1-0 just to settle the lads again. We're not in a slump, or having a crisis. We lost away to an in-form side. It happens. Move on. We're still top of the league. COYS
You better beleave it mate. It should be much better actually but City play much better away from home and the way the Saints play at home will suit the Tigers down to the ground. If your defenders are slow then its gonna be a long night for you as our forwards are now movin through the gears into top form. Hull City to WIN 2-1 and the end of another proud home record. West Ham will draw at M'Boro so you shall still be top. Just.
Yes you are right,we've had 12 lucky wins with alot of teams saying we are the best team they've faced this season,i give up! By all means be confident of a Hull win but i really don't see the point in not showing us the respect we deserve for starting this season so well.I hope your manager has the same attitude as you and underestimates us because if he does you'll walk away with nothing.
nothing to do with respect or underestimating you. all i shall say is that if we are on form then watch out. if we play like we did for the last 20 mins on saturday then Yes i expect your 100% home record to stay in tact. we shall soon find out. looking forward to a cracking game.
