So do I, but that's often why Director's of football (director of footballs'?) Stuart at a club long term to manage and keep the club on track to the owners values and hire managers to fit the team set up - which should mean that a manager won't need to overhaul the entire squad as they should be suitable to their brand of football to a certain extent.

I suppose this is where Tan comes in, with Acun very hands on in determining this as well so they should in theory be able to sign the players they want, for the style they want, and get a manager in who aligns with that. Then if that manager misses out on the playoffs on the last day of the season they can sack him and get someone else
Yes that the way most clubs are going and I am.surprised we dont have one

Yes, we're crying out for a decent director of football. We just need someone with experience to oversee it. Rebuilding is tough at the best of times, and we've tried it with Tan and Acun and it didn't work.

I think all signings should be club signings. Whats the point of having a recruitment team if you are going to ignore them and leave transfer decisons to one person. Of course the head coach should be included in those decislions and the final decision be in the hands of the guy writing the check. Everyone should be on the same page

If you're making "club signings" but then complaining that the manager doesn't use them, then it starts becoming a shambles. Seems to happen a lot now, but I don't like it.

Meanwhile, the Brightons and Brentfords really do have everyone on the same page and constantly sell players for a profit. Making club signings that the manager doesn't want to use will only ever be a waste of money.

Pandur is the only one really though? Not many other dud signings this season really bar Vinagre

I don't really know what's gone on, and I haven't really had any issue with our recent recruitment. But I don't like this stuff coming out about Pandur being signed without Rosenior wanting him, and then that becoming a bone of contention for the owners when he wasn't used. Maybe/hopefully it isn't true, but I doubt Baz has got it wrong.

I also really don't like the idea that our January recruitment heightened expectations to such an unrealistic degree. If that was the deal then we'd have been better off not making those signings, and I'd have said the same at the time. **** or bust isn't the way to do anything.

Was it unrealistic not to expect us to drop a place following the investment in Jan, if you're an owner writing a cheque for 24m?

I'm not so sure it was.

Unfortunately this is “Acun’s project” don’t think we’ll see this happen. Tan I think would be capable but the man at the top has the final say

I did say the same at the time. I always wanted majority of signings to be about setting us up to give 24/25 a proper crack. The top 4 this season was set in stone, it was a waste pushing for it this year.

I'm not that convinced Tan was fully behind the Rosey dismissal personally. But as long as Acun writes the cheques then he'll call the shots.

His ownership style is a presidential one.

Basically I think we're his apprenticeship for Fenerbache president one day.

Multi club system and all that.

Acun did actually name check Allsop over Ingram in his 'team of permanents' over on Humberside earlier.

Didn't name a striker mind, so doubt there's a contract being offered to Connolly, no surprise.

Did name Giles though. So he's almost certainly costing us 4.25m of the Greaves/Jaden money.

The 4m for Giles was already factored in outside of Greaves/Jaden. I had suggested that all along despite plenty dismissing me.

If we haven't yet paid the fee, then it can yet be better spent elsewhere, and I still maintain there's better value in the market from what I've seen in a city shirt so far.

Of course if we agreed an obligation as opposed to an option in Jan then that's different.

I suppose the point for Acun sacking Rosie is that Giles is a 4m pound player of you get a manager to play to his strengths. In Acun's mind it doesn't matter what you've seen of him in a city shirt because you'll see a different Giles next year

Perhaps, but with that must surely come an acceptance that Rosie didn't get everything right. And in the context of 'visions not being aligned' than the case of Giles must surely be a significant consideration, no?

We were playing a rookie LB with him looking on for most of the run in FFS!.

I'm not sure how you make the argument for signing Giles at that price and then reconcile it with Rosie being untouchable in the eyes of the owner, when clearly that's been a point of divergence in itself ?

You've completely lost me. Probably my fault as I've just got off a flight but no idea where most of that came from.

But yes i agree with the statement that Rosie didn't get everything right and our stifled attack is the main gripe I had. Just thought he might turn it around, or at least get a chance to!

Fans of other teams don't see us week in week out though do they, it's easy to say "id take LR" after they see us turn them over ( or in Leeds case out play then but still lose ) But do you honestly believe any of them would say the same after a full seasons worth of homes games the same as we've had to endure
Same as Simon Jordan, Jobi McAnuff and anyone else who is suddenly giving it the 'what a disgrace' in the media.

Until you've sat through that tepid nonsense for a full season you don't have any idea how poor it was. I was happily missing games earlier this year because other things seemed more appealing. I admit this changed towards the end after the manager had been told to sort it out. The £30 a month was starting to feel like poor value, imagine what a bloke who has subk £20m and flown across the world to get to home games was thinking?

We played some fantastic football this season, clearly there were some **** games (particularly at home), but we regularly outplayed or matched the best teams in the league.

Can you imagine how acun was feeling watching the Stoke game?
He’s backed him brought really good attacking players in in January
And had to bite his tongue since January in public while listening to all the rosenior bullshit
I improve players etc
Now season ends
Sacked
Move on
Get a new manager in
And try again
