Hopefully a big summer incoming reading that, was hoping we didn’t ignore the issues we have in our Xl and get tunnel vision replacing those who leave. Need a better CB alongside Ballard (if he stays) and a proper 6 first and foremost, one of whom should be captain material. Get the spine sorted the rest will fall into place

I'm not sure CB is a massive priority, genuinely think O9 is good enough to get us promotion. Didn't someone post some stats the other day showing he was one of the top 10 CBs in the whole league over the course of the season?

Yep he is def good enough, would be even better with a quality cdm in front of him

I put up that hes ranked in the top 10 CBs this season on wyscout, his stats look very good

Id like a 3rd quality CB, someone like charlie cresswell

I agree. Ignoring those that may leave if we added a solid 6 and a regular goal scorer centre and right and we’d be close.

I have said earlier I think our job as real fans is to support when it is difficult. These kind of fans are th ones whose opinions I admire most. I may not agree but I listen and take it on board and in some cases it will change my opinion.
I am a bit like Smug an eternal fan who thinks it is support no matter what but I also get the need to be better, maybe I am the juxtaposition of a supporter or maybe the 12 bottles I have had today ( it is 20:00 here so stop judging <cheers> ) are affecting my thinking either way HWTL.

We’ve got good foundations with youngsters and now the academy doing well. Need to add quality, ready to go players this summer and do do better with the loaning out of our own prospects. COUPLE OF STRIKERS PLEASE

Our academy is our goldmine. We need to be bringing through kids like Watson and others next season, instead of signing the 20 or 21 year olds from u23 footy. We can loan from u23 to bridge that gap if we think we have a gap, I dont. Money on lads a season or 2 under their belts at this level is where to spend money, alongside 2 or 3 26/28 year olds lads.

Yeah I agree, I’d like to see Watson filtered in like rigg has been, if he’s not going to be loaned out. Streamline the squad in certain position as we bloated in some and a bit light in centre mid and striker. I’m a bit more optimistic the recruitment team will tweak things this summer

We’re mid table and he’s a player that consistently makes mistakes, has to be replaced for me. Add that to the fact he’s small, poor in the air and a positional catastrophe at times makes no sense not to sure up the defence. Makes no difference to me if he’s good at playing out from the back which propels his stats, we should have a proper CB there who can play out from the back and a decent midfielder dropping deep to pick up the ball. Instead of thinking he’s someone who can just about do a job why aren’t we finding someone’s who’s actually good?

He doesn't consistently make mistakes tho and hes been pretty good for most of the season.

Should we be looking to improve, of course but thats the same in every position - always got to look at improving the squad and if a better cb is available then we should look at them. For me we need a 3rd cb to challenge o9 n ballard - i like cresswell n think he fits the mould of what we need

Im not a pro o9 supporter but he has been good this season and the stats (plus the eye test imo) back that up

I support the team and the club whether I'm happy or not.

Of course I'm not happy to be in the Championship but some people have spent the entire season whinging about everything including things that absolutely won't change such as KLD/KS going ...

... I was seething at things like Blackburn, I just don't see the point of suffering that then not looking forward to the next game. Today could be a fantastic away day and we could see a fantastic Sunderland goal or victory.

Where's the sense in wasting a season bleating on about the lack of a CDM or whether O'Nien can play football.

I'm no happy clapper but I'll support whoever puts the shirt on from kick-off today, Haway the Lads!!!

Exactly this, no club does well when the fan base is not aligned and we as a fan base know that more than most. But we also know that magic can happen if we all just get in the bus and travel in the same direction. We are so close to that and I think that a little bit of magic may be just around the corner.

You must have better eyes than me mate :emoticon-0102-bigsm our defence has been a shambles at times this season for a team that plays so conservatively and he’s been a mainstay in that. Ballard has a mistake in him too but at least he has the physicality upside

All about opinions i suppose, the biggest issue for me is the cover in front of them. We need a quality CDM in the summer, arguably be our most important signing if we get one

As i said a 3rd CB is needed, hjelde n alese will likely be CBs going forward but with Seelts injury i think we need another

CDM is vital, I will give the CB’s the benefit of the doubt there mind they’re exposed constantly. I don’t think Hume would be a worse option than O’nien if Pembele was to be a regular fixture but again he’s not the biggest.

If that makes people feel proactive Bob, that's fine by me.

I'd expect most of these things have been discussed since before we lost to Luton.

Tenders for the stadium improvements had already gone out this time last year.
