This will be seen as negative and I don't mean it to be, but the obvious question mark on Ömür to me is his end product. We've not seen it yet. He's obviously talented, and that seems to be enchanting people for the time being, but Carvalho's goals have carried the team since January. Without him we'd barely have scored a goal. Ömür is doing some things brilliantly, but when it comes to goalscoring (not creating) he's one of several players who aren't doing enough of it. If we lose Carvalho and assume it'll be OK because we've got Ömür, then he'll have to find that end product.

He's in that honeymoon phase at the moment like Allahyar was for a while, but at some point people are going to start expecting to see goals and assists and then if it doesn't come he'll very quickly become a target for criticism. That's the usual pattern anyway.

Omur reminds me of Ghilas, let's hope he can find that end product.

Do they count for 0.5 goals each or something?

He's only just begun starting games for us to be fair to him, but long may it continue. He's got goals coming though, especially if we keep playing so positively.

Omur like Ghilas !!! Not in a million years .
He virtually never loses the ball , he was back playing right full back at times today and at one point dropped to our area to move Cardiff about. He’s very talented and his beat play is a joy - I accept he needs to score , maybe put his foot through a couple instead of trying to caress them - like his video highlights

I think they are different types of players in a way. Omur had 6 assists in 15 games this season. He’s not the type to get you double figures goal wise, in that case you put people round him that can. This makes it more vital we sign a number 9. There’s no comparisons with Allhyar what so ever, he hardly had any technical skills, Omur is different you can tell the balance and natural ability is already there.

I'm not saying his game is similar to Allahyar. The similarity is just that as January signings, both have got people very excited at first, with their respective qualities making them seem like a breath of fresh air. And I wonder whether people will be less impressed by Ömür's obvious ability over time if it doesn't lead to more output, as happened with Allahyar eventually.

The difference is he’s not a forward. Allahyar came having had output in the past.

I don't think Omur will ever do the numbers Carvalho can/does but he can chip in here and there. So long as he is playing well and part of team goals, like today assisting the assist then thats good for me, hopefully we have strikers next season to take over Carvalho's goals assuming we've no chance of getting him back.

To compare Omar with allyar is like comparing a metro with a Mercedes, both have a steering wheel and 4 tyres but **** me they are different worlds. Omar had been here since January, needed to get up to speed for a few games, I think we will see the best of him next season. His close control is another level to allyar and to be honest most of the team. This lad works so hard for the team both in attack and defence, the goals will come, that is for certain but to be honest it’s his all round game that I think is more important. I hope we keep tufan next season because the pair of them will light up the championship the more they play together. For me the lad should be not only first on the team sheet but have the team built around him. Just my opinion so don’t shoot the ****ing messenger lol.

Yeah I wouldn't say Omur has no end product when he's hit the post a few times now and actually shown he has a shot on him. That's luck/fine tuning his ability not a lack of ability altogether. When Ally scored it seemed despite his best efforts - think his goal against Sunderland was a wild shin of the ball?

Omur looks quality and it's no coincidence we have our best displays/spells in games with him on the pitch.

When Delap is fully fit and firing there'll be questions around how we line up, but for now, that'd be it for me with Coyle and Giles at full back if they're back anytime soon.

This is never really comparable logic as others would have played in his position. If you throw Zaroury in too as they were the major forward changes and the numbers before today's game, you're looking at having to replace 7 goals in about 11 games and that's not a lot. We've looked so much better since Zaroury has come out the side too

I get that point, but others have played in a similar position and all struggled to score, and that's been our problem. You need players who succeed with those final actions (as LR likes to call it) and Carvalho is seriously good in that respect. Coming close to scoring on several occasions doesn't get us anything. In order to iterate on this season's progress and score more goals next season we'll need more players to show the kind of movement and finishing that Carvalho is showing now. It's easy to see why he's on Liverpool's books.

We've just taken too long to find the balance but that not surprising when you sign a bulk of players in late January.

We've also struggled to score because we moved our most prolific player from the left to the right.

Fabio has done well but I'd swap him for a fit Delap in a heartbeat.

Tufan will be dropped for Delap. Most likely. Which is a shame.

Philogene hasn't looked much better on the left so I'm not sure that's the cause.

He also played on the right a lot previously.

Young kid. All sorts of attention. Dealing with a rehab better than Azza is.

He's got the goal he needed today.

Each time I watch Ömur it feels as though he's growing into the league that little bit more. It's incremental but only going in one direction.
