If he does I would imagine it would be a premier league team, hes already proved he can do it in the championship

Not so sure tbh, from what he said its all about which club is right for his development

Cant really go into too much about the convo as some of it is in relation to the club i work for but from what was said i reckon we (sunderland) will def be in the running if hes made available

He needs to push for a move away from United for me. He needs to go somewhere bottom/mid table in the Prem for a couple of years to really kick on.

Genuinely wonder if we should consider trying to fully convert Jobe to a 9, he could be exceptional there with a bit of specialist training.

Would initially save us a fortune and if it worked the sale figure would be wild.

Seems like a good idea to me, he's not had great service or played there much but he's bagged his share of goals, he's got the finishers instinct as well as plenty of other suitable attributes for it.

depending who goes in the summer but if it's just clarke, we don't need massive changes, add 3-4 players to are squad and we'll be right up there next season, players are young and will be inconsistent

that's last 2 months would of been massive learning curves for some of are young lads, i'm looking forward to the summer and excited for next season

Was saying this to my grandad yesterday. If we can get the injured players consistently fit I think we have some solid depth. Selling Clarke might be necessary to get 4 quality players to come into the 11 with a couple of younger lads into the squad for later in the season. I don’t think this summer needs 10+ signings, quality over quantity this summer

We already have a big squad mind, considering the half dozen loanees who are due back, we will need to sell more than we recruit.

Keeping the players we have fit is more important than bringing in new ones. I'd give up several signings worth of money to get better medical staff and facilities in.

The 2 areas where all clubs should spend good money is on the recruitment n medical teams

It is an issue for us the likes of cirkin and alese who are quality at this level not being available to us for large parts consistently. No expert but could be down to the lads and their bad luck / genetics? And not much the medical team can do. Alese for one felt like he was rushed back though

The second statue outside the SoL should be of whoever kept Wes Brown fit for an entire season.

It probably a qualifying miracle for a sainthood as well.

I'd guess it's about identifying individual fitness needs and tailoring their work to them.

Everyone would be praying for the Paul McGrath role mind.

Agree, but I don't think we'll be too short in either. We have to remember that some of the young lads in our squad may still be growing and,it could be,that the rigours of the Championship are exacting a toll on them. Steven Gerrard springs to mind as an example.

Should be number 1 priority! Allardyce had a team in place that kept Kirchoff fit! The best technology and best people possible using it should be minimum!

I know nothing about preventative work re injuries, other than stretching old school. What strikes me though is we seem to have a small group prone to injury. Alese, Cirkin, Huggins. Some players, sadly, have the sort of physical makeup that seems fragile in some ways. Giggs had terrible hamstring trouble but went down the yoga route. Maybe some individuals need some very specific medical routines.

Be really interesting to see if we are worse off than other clubs statistically for injuries. It feels like we are suffering but maybe no more than others. At the end of the day football is a high intensity impact sport and injuries are inevitable. If we can do more to prevent them then I would be all for it of course, but I do find it interesting how some seem to be easily injured and others seem really robust. The amount of minutes some of our lads play is crazy really.

For me we don’t need too many players. We probably need to add a centre back after the Seelt issue, we need to have the right fit for centre midfield - essentially a younger Evans I’d say, niggly competitor who naturally covers danger but can play - and status fit more- and two goal scoring forwards 3 if Clarke goes as expected. Our biggest issue has been failing to finish attacks. It’s not a massive overhaul but it will cost money.

Always feel like that Szmodics would be a great fit with what we have.

28 though so we probs wouldn’t entertain it.

Goalscoring 10, could allow Jobe to focus on one position.

The problem is we have bought quite a few with injury records, in the hope we get them fit enough to contribute. Now that may be down to individual assessments by the medical staff. I seem to recall Ledley King or someone not training in the week so he could play games. Maybe that's where we have lost Dodds field of expertise. Just me guessing but I'm allowed.
