I thought you meant he was warned by people in the club. I know fans weren't happy but wouldn't class that as him being warned.
Well it was all over Social Media, that “the fans” had reservations (understatement) about MB. Is that not sufficient warning like? Bart
What right have the fans got to warn KS about who we appoint? We are supposed to be there to support the players during a game, not run the club. It’s a big problem for us, atm. Fans getting above their station.
Absolutely. An unfortunate side effect of Beale's trial by social media is that a vocal portion of our fans now believe that they know better than the club and all they have to do to put that superior knowledge into effect is to whinge like **** as loudly and publicly as possible. Him being sacked has validated that behaviour in their minds. The reality is that they don't know their arse from their elbow but it puts a lot of pressure on the next appointment. If the braindead masses are displeased with it then the club suffers again.
Not really mate no. If a director of football or whatever speakmans job role is listened to fans to the level they decided not to appoint someone they wanted I'd be worried! If it was people in the club or connected with football who had heard stuff about a coaches method's or personality that let him know I'd say that's a warning. Fans not liking a manager cause of his previous results in other jobs no as that is there for them to see without the fans needing to warn them! I think eventually the fans not wanting him got him out anyway as I think he had enough and wanted gone much as anything!
Add to that the ****ers who constantly bang on about not spending enough. It's KLD's money FFS and if that's how he's decided to run the club that's his perogative. It's not like he's misled the fans in that regard, he's stated from the outset that he wants the club to be self sustainable.
They're very careful not to actually say too much, it's always 'flex, tweak, sensible spending, etc' ... ... all supporters want more spending but, like Everton fans now, expect sympathy when it goes wrong. Short, then Donald, had the club on the brink of financial disaster and KLD is trying to make sure it doesn't happen on his watch but also that he eventually hands over a sustainable club. Yet he's attacked and insulted day after day ... madness.
Us fans are here always, KS may piss off to another club and not give a toss about what he has left behind, Thats why we have a right to express our opinions.
You absolute pussy, so we shouldnt voice any views and just sit on our hands? Just turn up, pay our money and nod at everything they do? I knew nothing about Beale and was prepared to give him a chance, what due diligence did the club (our lords and masters in your opinion) carry out before picking up another manager who was a free agent? Did they review his job at Rangers? Their fans and players reactions?
Stop being a drama queen. I hope you aren’t so easily offended in real life Of course you can voice your views. I’ve never said any different. I made it clear I was talking about our fans warning Speakman about who he appoints as our head coach. Beale was a manager at Rangers. We were looking for a head coach. It didn’t work out for him at Rangers. At QPR he was a head coach who was doing well and was approached by at least one premier league club. The Rangers players liked his coaching, btw. It’s clear to see why he was a good candidate at the time.
I totally agree about having the right to express opinions. That should never be taking away. That’s different to warning the board about who they appoint, though.
Its you that seems to be offended by fans voicing their opinions, I understand you are a bit sensitive
Most fans only knew about Beale on the basis that he was sacked by Rangers (and perhaps about which clubs he'd worked at prior to that). That's very different to knowing about how he worked as a coach, what he's like with the players, his tactical understanding- the things that actually matter when appointing a coach.
Theres a middle ground we need to find though mate if we serious about getting up and staying there. We certainly don’t need to go Everton, or even Ipswich levels. We have definitely spent on contracts to extend players of course. We are certainly at a bit of a crossroads, a pivotal time.
