It's just the number I heard mate. Maybe something else involved in it. Could be on top of certain monies received after initial outlay is paid back to him. Would imagine it could be canny complicated with JS shares etc.

I don't have an issue with the evolving nature of it. But I have an issue with how prominent the person is. For me, should be in the shadows doing the work , not being so visible. Then you look at our last 3 windows. Terrible. The head coach issues with Beale and Dodds, terrible. The handling of the squad balance and experience, terrible.

IMO there is enough for him to get the chop.
the middle easten in december who started talks ( reason card display got pulled)

was full club for around 130m, KLD didn't really want to sell then
also still an american interest, but more for juans shares , i still think KLD will be hear next season but not juan

his background was the Birmingham academy right? He’s clearly a very good operator when it comes to the footballing structure of a club. But his entire philosophy of football is about developing youngsters. Not winning.

Id be very happy with him as our academy director. Much like id be very happy with Dodds as our first team coach. Both have been promoted beyond their capabilities.

I think this is an interesting observation and one I'm inclined to agree with.

One thing that does frustrate me in football though is the lack of belief in anyone's ability to change/learn/improve/grow after they're a teenager.

I won't be informed enough to know the answer to this, in fact I doubt anyone but KLD will be; but if there's an acceptance from Speakman that mistakes have been made and that his approach needs adjusting, then I'd consider giving him another window to prove himself.

Speakmans persona isn't an issue for me. He needs to be contrite and take accountability to his superiors but to be honest, I would think he was unprofessional if he didn't speak confidently (maybe seen as arrogantly) to a local businessman who has inside connections, or some of the support staff etc. so first or second hand accounts of his personality are irrelevant to me.

My Manc mate is adamant we’ve spoken to him but I don’t know if this was recent.

Bob or Prehab might’ve heard summit if it’s true.

Question for those who played a part in hounding Beale out (you did)

Do you think we’d have lost the last 4 games with him in charge and do you think the team would look as out of sorts as it does now?

Remember Beale took 7 points from his last 5 games in charge.

Hard to know re: Beale but I can definitely say that the sacking of Mowbray now looks pretty ridiculous to everyone in the game.

Completely disagree. It causes friction and crosses boundaries. The fact that Neil and Mowbray, 2 very experienced people in the game, felt so, shows it's the case.

Now we have Dodds.......

Think that's game set and match TBF
Who gives a sit what Neil thinks? He thought he was moving to a club with a better model. He’s a fyck up as are Stoke.

I’m still not convinced about that, pal. Mowbray was showing signs of being unhappy and imo the team was starting to hit a brick wall under him. Maybe he’d hit his ceiling and the time to change and kick on was right but the club and a portion of our fans have completely blown it and took us back a few steps.

Yeh I'm not saying I disagreed with the sacking, as hindsight is a wonderful thing. But to those observers outside, we had a manager who got us into playoffs who was then sacked the next season despite being 3 points off playoffs, with the club saying it wasn't good enough ("culture of excellence" or something). Since then we've plummeted and sacked one manager and most of our fans want a third "sacking". It looks ridiculous to neutrals. And many managers who may have been interested might be less so as a result.

Yeah, this is true. I’m in Liverpool and when I tell them I’m a Sunderland fan they tend to laugh and say ‘it’s not good times for you lot, at the moment. You like to burn through your managers up there, don’t you.’

I think the way our fans kicked up a fuss and treated Beale right from the start will definitely be talked about in pro circles and could definitely impact us on trying to bring in future targets.

I can fully understand why Mowbray was sacked. We were in a decent League position but the performances were getting steadily worse.

Sacking him without any idea of who we were going to replace him with a ridiculous decision. Then to risk it all on the cheapest possible option with a crap track record…that was when our campaign came fully off the rails.

Who had a crap track record mate?

Watching PSG v Reims, 2-2 at HT, and Reims play some really good stuff. Play with a lot of width and constantly look for the striker in behind. Quite aggressive pressing also. Defending very questionable though.

Second half just starting now on TNT Sport 1.

Personally didn’t play a part in hounding him out but thought he should have been sacked after Birmingham. To answer your question probably not lost all 4 but I’d still have imagined us being a decent way off play offs which was his remit. Beale wasn’t the man for the job imo even though he did get a bit of an unfair time of it especially at the start.

Things were showing signs of improvement with Beale, because of the Hume incident we will never know. I personally don’t think we would be where we are now.

If we don’t get a result against QPR then we really need to consider bringing someone in.

I’d be going all out to get Cooper now. As it stands we’re losing the momentum we’ve built up over the last 18months. That will have a huge impact on which players we can retain and also attract as signings.
What if we've already got our top 3 choices, who are available in the summer and are interested
Do we just sign someone that isn't in a job at the minute
Dodds is not the answer, but there are too many poor teams below us for us to really go down.
We were the better team on Tuesday for 70 minutes against the league leaders.
We showed at times yesterday that we could match Southampton, although they were the better team.
If dodds can get a little bit of consistency we will be ok and pick up points.
If we sign a new head coach now he would be out of work, is there any available that we would want. If Cooper was available and willing to come I'm sure he'd already be here.
In an ideal world our new no1 target would already be here, would you rather wait for the right candidate if he's available in the summer or sign the target who is 15th on the list because he's available now
