He has not even kicked a ball yet except in training surely you have to give him the chance before making a judgement, unless he comes out on a zimmer i think he will do ok.

As for him not being as good as Oscar you really do need to look up both players careers before saying that.

This is such a dumb argument. Ross McCormack’s 37 as well and scored more Championship goals than Óscar. Should we sign him too?

Liam Cullen 7/4 to join Hull city in the January widow according to the Yorkshire post…
The forward has missed just one of Swansea’s league games this season, which funnily enough was against Hull. The 24-year-old made his senior breakthrough with the Wales national team earlier this year.

Is he tall enough?

Dunno If 5'10 is tall enough but he's 24, inexpensive, averaged a goal every 260 mins he's played in the championship and covers virtually every position in the forward line.

Comes from Swansea so he should be well versed in pissing about at the back already.

Looks to potentially be an astute and practical signing - but probably underwhelming again for some - if there's anything in it.

He’s very old for a footballer. And he doesn’t suit our style of play. We had a good goal-poacher in Óscar who was deemed not suited to our style of play. Sharp is also a goal-poacher but much older and not as good. It’s a weird signing.

Seem to be missing the elephant in the room. Billy will be on an absolute fraction of what Oscar was on here and happy to be a bit part player whereas Oscar wanted to play.

The suggestion is Sharp is not happy to just be a bit part player and expects/wants to be involved as much as possible. But who knows.

I don't understand this age problem.

He's 37, yet he can still run and finish like a 21 year old can. He's here for five months, on what will no doubt be a relatively low wage and has just come off the back of a pretty decent scoring spell in the MLS. Where's the issue? He isn't the only forward we're after and he had offers from plenty of other Championship clubs.

The fact he's 37 doesn't really matter if he can still do the things he is supposed to do properly. If he comes in and manages 5 goals that make a difference, he was worth every penny. I doubt he'll start games, but given our lack of forward options from the bench, it's hardly a gamble.

This is the part I take exception to. He had 2 goals in a Sheff Utd side that went up last season.

Dunno if you've heard his tigers plus interview, but he was fairly realistic and complimentary about the lads ahead of him.

He knows he's here to offer experience and it's as much about his contribution off it as on it.

But he's allowed to have a **** season, it's just because he's knocking on that everyone writes him off.

When you have a **** season at that age it's reasonably rare to suddenly have a good one the year after. If even LA aren't triggering his extension I'm not sure he's going to offer much on the pitch for us. It's a bit Liam Ridgewell-y, but at least Sharp has the experience and ability to offer coaching advice to Delap.

I don't get the negativity. Signing a third-choice striker isn't easy as minutes are limited. He's bounced back in the MLS this year with a solid goalscoring return and I'm not going to speculate why LA didn't trigger his extension because I don't know anything about it.

He still made 38 appearances last season so Sheff Utd clearly didn't think he was useless. He's different to what we have and I fully expect him to score a few big goals
