Sick of seeing the "only 3 points off the playoffs" comment as a reason for not changing manager, like Simon mentioned its the trajectory thats worrying and the fact that teams below us are beating us. We are only 9 points away from the bottom 3 which seems a lot but look at our next few games.
This post looks quite sensible if we lose the next two, but will look stupid if we win them.

I know what you mean mate, but I think the next two games a massive for us. I really dont think we can write them off and I hope the top team arent. If there isnt a new man in by the weekend I would be surprised personally. The last thing we need is a repeat of the debacle that was the Neil appointment. They need to get this done and show leadership for me. KLD talks about a high performance culture across the club, that extends to getting your perfect candidate soom after sacking the old one. Whilst I think sacking Mowbray is the wrong call, I do think they will get the man they want in the next couple of days and he will be on the touchline at the weekend.

Hope you are right mate and someone is in quickly.

Yeah I get what you mean and I really hope we pick up some points and my post does look stupid by the end of next week.

It's fine margins at the minute in the league and a gamble either way, but it does make sense replacing the manager now rather than mid-feb for example. Especially if there is a manager available who the club have been keeping an eye on (I don't know if that is the case though).

Hopefully as has been said by a few the time it was released about Mowbray going that the wheels were already well in motion with his replacement I’d like to think the new bloke will be in the stands Saturday and take the reins Monday, Dodds and co for any length of time would be a disaster in my opinion.
I enjoyed Mowbrays tenure we played a lot of great football never looked forward to attending matches as much in years so thank you uncle Tony and good luck for the future.
As for us it’s onward and upward let’s keep the faith and move on together COME ON

I enjoyed the football under Mogga, looked forward to the matches. The same can be said for brief spells under BSA, Keane, Di Canio and Poyet (mostly revolving around beating the skunks), but you have to go all the way back 23 years to Reid...

Pinched from G Force otr, in those 23 years we have had....

"Mowbray
Neil- resigned
Johnson
Parkinson
Ross
Coleman
Grayson
Moyes - Resigned
Allardyce - Resigned for England job
Advocaat - Retired
Poyet
Di Canio
MON
Bruce
Sbragia
Keane
Quinn
Ball
McCarthy
Wilkinson
Reid

The list since the turn of the century.

Before Neil arrived we had Johnson, Parkinson and Ross who all failed to get us out the 3rd division. Poor appointments.

Grayson & Coleman who were disasters in the Championship. Poor appointments

Moyes who didn’t want to be here. Disastrous for us.

Allardyce who resigned, Advocaat who retired after being lured back.

Poyet who seemed defeated by the end. He never recovered from the 0-8 defeat.

Di Canio who we got hammered for appointing.

MON who we got 5 years too late

Bruce who undid all his early good work, like he does at every club.

Sbragia seems to be getting counted in these numbers, as well as Quinn and Ball.

Keane who walked out.

McCarthy who won 15 premiership points in over 50 games. He’s pretty well liked with his promotion

Wilkinson which was a disaster and then we’re back to Reid
"

... our best run of two 7th placed finishes in the premier 23 years ago, led by the strike force of SKP and Quinny.

Was it not 9 men, Henderson and Bolton both full backs being sent off

It was. Very memorable day that was. I'd go to some away games back then, and I went to that one with a mate who was at Manchester Uni. We sat in the Bob Lord stand, no tickets then just turn up. He wanted to sit there for reasons I never grasped.

Great game, we might have had more sent off IIRC and would have done today as I seem to remember it got very fiesty. During the game, (and sober!) I somehow managed to losea shoe and never found it, had to limp back to his car, and when we got there it had a bloody flat! Took ages to sort out, but we'd still won from behind with mine men.

Bonkers day all round, happy days. The lad in question now lives in Singapore!
