It's third hand information. I'm leaning towards believing it because it makes sense from what I understand of Barry and what I think Speakman/KLD want. It's a great match.
The Athletic article includes a number of players and staff who have worked with him giving him praise for all of these things. Tuchel and Martinez have both been keen to take him to multiple clubs/nations which speaks volumes too. He's exactly the kind of bold appointment I can see this club making next (if it's planned rather than reactionary).

He’s definitely been making steps in management to be fair. Was Martinez’ assistant at Belgium for a couple of years. Just seems an unlikely one, but ya never know.
