This was always going to happen and it’s all about interpretation. As soon as war broke out I thought it would be the single biggest threat to Labours lead in the polls but they have officially taken the same line as most other countries and the government, personally I think that is correct.

You cannot pick a side in this war, just speak out against the violence in general.
Seems like pressure is growing on him to change his stance. Will be interesting to see what he does next. I am no Starmer fan but I have been impressed by his resilience and determination to stick with his original stance.

I'm not a big Starmer fan tbh, but that's because I've not paid him much attention so far.

Opposition parties, especially when facing huge majorities, are mostly irrelevant and put out various policies to gauge reactions.

However he does seem earnest and I can't imagine him lying, sponging and cheating the way Johnson did.

(I ignore the latest two PMs as they're basically irrelevant squad players who came in through suspensions and injuries.)

He may change stance occassionally but I'd rather have that than Boris's tendency to take us all for gullible fools captivated by his charm.

My position on Israel is that they're fanatical zealots intent on revenge and unconcerned with the carnage they're creating.

Absolutely despicable and just as bad as Hamas ...

... the difference is that one is supposed to be a proud State we should respect and the other is a bunch of crazed bigoted terrorists we can't respect.

At the moment I can't tell the difference.

This may seem a daft question mainly because I’m not bothered really, where did all the Jews live before they were given this Palestinian land to call their own?

HS2 and now this ...

... terrible if you're a Cockney with a season ticket at Old Trafford <laugh>

"Train operator Avanti West Coast will be cancelling nearly 20 services every Saturday between London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly until the end of the year."

After watching yesterday match, they were fxxking embarrassing, and as many Man U supporters mostly come from outside Manchester, that could be welcome news.

It was only a matter of time before the infighting started within the Labour Party. There’s still large numbers of anti-semites within the ranks. This was always going to happen.

More than 35 Labour MPs and 250 councillors have also called for a ceasefire, with around 30 councillors resigning from the party over the leadership's position on the war.

Meanwhile, Andy McDonald has been suspended as a Labour MP, over what the party described as "deeply offensive" comments at a pro-Palestinian rally.

Boris Johnson thought, and obviously still thinks, his ludicrous boasting will continue to fool everyone.

All of his boasts are crumbling before his eyes but the arrogance continues unabated.

HS2, Brexit and now his 'world class' handling of Covid are falling apart. For anyone with a shred of humility there'd be the possibility of an apology, or contrition at least. This is already embarrassing for him, and will become worse, in the next few days, but he knows he can count on his total detachment from reality and his fan club who'll neve admit he was useless.

"As two of Boris Johnson's closest aides during the pandemic prepare to give evidence at the Covid inquiry later, our political editor Chris Mason reflects on what we've heard so far. Shambolic dysfunction in Downing Street, with thousands upon thousands of lives at stake. That is the claim, to the Covid inquiry, from some of those who worked very closely alongside Boris Johnson during the pandemic.

They are painting a picture of chaos, and of a prime minister they claim was temperamentally unsuited to the scale of the challenge the pandemic confronted him with."

And next up is Dominic Cummings <laugh>

Drops all of his "friends" when they are no longer of use to him. Shouldn't be surprised when they later put the boot in. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

As usual he thinks he can just walk away from the mess he's made as he does with his families and other jobs ...

... this time he's front page news again and it's getting worse for him, not better.

His 'legacy' won't be what he was hoping for, he's only convincing himself and his little fanatics.

Ffs
What an arsehole
