He's a year older and will be another year older next year. He did great last season but we've recruited another 2 defenders who may have different attributes and might be better for the bigger picture of how we play. Yeah it's a risk to let him go but you can't just hoarde players.

Unless you're Chelsea....

On the field they have certainly earned our trust, although I'd like to see the RS situation / another striker situation sorted before the start of the season. Feels like we are stuck in limbo not moving forward or backwards with that.

Off the field annoys the hell out of me, due to how important the turnover is to help the on the field matters.

Perhaps the club feel it is sorted.

We have an established player, under contract, coming back from injury.

Could it be that the supporters are unduly concerned or wanting a club statement that won't happen.

Why not let's all relax and let the club deal with it.

I'm not just talking to you BTW, it's a general thought and nowt but my opinion.

Guess that's part of the fun of pre season, with little football to take your mind off things, it wanders onto things that are probably already sorted.

The new lad Hemir looks good though from videos and yesterday's cameo.

I'm very confident we will see Lihadji perform this year as well, I've got big hopes for him

I think it's just a massive risk. I mean DB hasn't show us that he is a liability or a concern. The opposite. An absolute rock who is a top pro and lives the right way. Very good leader to help the younger lads too. Sets the tone in training and match day squads.

He is only 32, not 52 ffs. I am struggling to work out why we would be happy for him to move on, all over a possible 12 month extension.

Brave call.
As much as I see your point I disagree mate. I think we're being progressive.

Remember when Mowbray was touted to leave and Farioli to come in? I'm sure you were saying we have to be ruthless, despite how well Mowbray has done, if there is a more progressive, better coach available. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure. Surely it is the same here witb Batth?

'Remember Kone', as a wise man once said ....

Im relaxed about the Stewart contract situation, personally I’ve accepted that he’s probably not going to sign so not worried about it. Think he’s the type of character that will still give his all anyway.

We do still need another striker however and the friendly matches have shown that.
