Big transfer news coming out of Shelbourne........their second choice goalie has transferred to Love Island!!!!!!! https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/65907201 More into scoring than saving.
Surely some ITK have a tiny bit of transfer gossip? Gagging for a believable rumour to get excited about
Nothing apart from Twine and Bradley. A Smith to Lincoln on loan but might do most of pre season with City. Tufan has offers from Turkey and it is 50/50 that he'll be here next season.
It's interesting that we seem to have been close to a left back for a while but no one has any idea who it is.
But PLT is right, Acun buying another club won't have any influence on us signing players. I'd be surprised if he has much involvement at all other than to be kept in the loop of what the manager and CEO are doing and who they're targeting. A list would have been drawn up weeks or even months ago, a budget agreed and people paid to do a job will have been trying to get as many players on the list as they can from the top down.
He's in to the tune of around 30m at city. About 2m at shelbourne and that's including planned improvements. There's no way anyone will be taking the eye off the ball at city.
I think there will be rumours about him leaving every window he's with us. I'd like him to stay too but he's another big earner and it depends on what Rosie's plans for him are. Resources are pretty limited due to FFP and he's one that would generate a decent fee too
I'm not saying he won't be involved in discussions with staff but I highly doubt Acun is meeting agents or speaking to clubs about transfer fees which I think is what the poster PLT replied to was suggesting might suffer because Acun is buying another club.
The name was mentioned but I've no idea how accurate it is. Really I meant that the ITK folks don't seem to know who it is. They do seem pretty certain about Bradley and Twine. Seems like the club are successfully keeping the LB under wraps, for now at least.
^^This. Sligo run on roughly the same budget as somebody like Gateshead or York City, Tolka Park is pretty run down and although historic and somewhat iconic in Ireland, badly needs modernising. The best supported LoI club is Shamrock Rovers and they only get about 6,000 a game at home. Running a team like that doesn't cost an awful lot and there's no way they'll be fishing in the same pond as us for players, it'll be an investment that he can sell on and in the mean time, provides us with a stable feeder club to send younger lads out out on loan to experience men's top flight football.
