Norwegian defensive midfielder Sondre Tronstad signs for Blackburn on a three-year deal after his contract expired at Vitesse.

But players from the Dutch league aren't suited for English football. Blackburn should've scouted the Humber Prem instead.

From what I've heard money won't be an issue for Ipswich moving forward. Does sound low though!
Where do we sit 'moving forward'?

There's been loads of names getting thrown around throughout this thread(a fair few ranging in price from £2-£7 million from memory),but little or no mention of any figures budgetwise.

My understanding was and still is that there's not a lot of money in the pot and we'd be looking at free's and loans unless we sell?

The majority of discussion seems to revolve around foreign players as well, but surely most would agree we need to dig out a couple of British players who have done a bit at this level? If Rosenior is seeking 'robust' signings then surely players who have already spent a bit of time in the Championship fit that category...This League looks tougher to me this season and on top of the teams that came down we have teams who narrowly missed out in the play-offs,if they invest to go one step further then we need to also, otherwise we're bottom half again?

In my view the teams not strong enough and lack of serious investment would see us as also-rans again...

Bit unfair when you look at the standard of players Eaves was surrounded with for many of his games.

Oscar has the exact same issue though. On paper we've got a good squad but in reality we've played an entire season with a chronic shortage of available attacking players, and as a result we didn't create many chances all season. I think it was an achievement to score 13 in this side.

As the rumours persist on Darlow to Boro and now links with other goalkeepers… surely Nathan Baxter is the obvious one to be going for?

We forget how potent he was with Tetteh providing service, when you take the provider out, teams can build a defence against one player.

I think it's as simple as Oscar is a penalty box scrapper and poacher, and as we know a lot of games last season we didn't get the ball into those areas very much. Clearly he's going to struggle for goals when that's the case. It's obviously our key priority to fix this window, and to me it seems obvious that if we can do that then Oscar will really benefit.

And even then he scored some lovely goals against Cov and Hudd from further out.

I agree he did alright, I'm not his biggest fan but I would be a fool to say he is not decent by being there to poke some in and also scored some decent goals. I just don't think he is the right sort of player to bundle us into the top 6.

If we signed a striker from Gillingham who scored 7 in 6 for us before the side got smashed with injuries and his forward partner missed huge stretches for the season, and he still managed another 6 goals some of which won us points with some cracking goals scored, I reckon we'd be pretty positive on him.

It's that Oscar's on a fortune and there's really important parts of his game that are really poor. If he was on half what he's on, he's a fantastic signing but when his hold up play is worse than Magennis and Eaves' and his link play is worse than Magennis' it gives you real problems. It's not like they set the bar high either.

There's this odd notion that when there's better players around him, he'll magically improve but we struggled with creating openings in the final third and he played a big part in that. There has to be more accountability for his shortcomings.

I don't particularly want Óscar to go but I would rather we sell him instead of Greaves if we need to balance the books. If we could get Haji Wright as Óscar's replacement, that would be even better. I think Wright would suit Rosenior's style a bit more as he's surprisingly quick for a lad of his size and likes to make runs in behind defenders whereas Óscar is more of a poacher and doesn't have much pace.

Do you ever suggest a realistic signing?

Not sure what he’s like after barely playing for a few years, but Heaton in his prime was one of the better goalkeepers in the prem. Arguably a step up from Darlow
