Bit unfair when you look at the standard of players Eaves was surrounded with for many of his games.
Eaves should've scored at least 9 or 10 in that season in League 1. Even Magennis got 18 and Wilks got 19.

Where do we sit 'moving forward'?From what I've heard money won't be an issue for Ipswich moving forward. Does sound low though!
Reminds me of when it was the in thing to slander Fryatt despite him bagging week in week out.

I think i wrote on another thread about this lad? His dad plays in a veterans football league with one of my mates and they chatted in the bar after the game and was asked about Jude and even his dad said "Jude is good but watch out for Jobe"Jobe Bellingham signed for Sunderland.
He's supposed to be the more talented one.
We forget how potent he was with Tetteh providing service, when you take the provider out, teams can build a defence against one player.Oscar has the exact same issue though. On paper we've got a good squad but in reality we've played an entire season with a chronic shortage of available attacking players, and as a result we didn't create many chances all season. I think it was an achievement to score 13 in this side.

I think it's as simple as Oscar is a penalty box scrapper and poacher, and as we know a lot of games last season we didn't get the ball into those areas very much. Clearly he's going to struggle for goals when that's the case. It's obviously our key priority to fix this window, and to me it seems obvious that if we can do that then Oscar will really benefit.
As the rumours persist on Darlow to Boro and now links with other goalkeepers… surely Nathan Baxter is the obvious one to be going for?
I'm really looking forward to seeing the same starting eleven play week in week out this coming season, suspensions aside that is.Rosy wants players that are robust and will stay fit....... Baxter doesn't tick that box
I agree he did alright, I'm not his biggest fan but I would be a fool to say he is not decent by being there to poke some in and also scored some decent goals. I just don't think he is the right sort of player to bundle us into the top 6.Oscar has the exact same issue though. If we signed a striker from Gillingham who scored 7 in 6 for us before the side got smashed with injuries and his forward partner missed huge stretches for the season, and he still managed another 6 goals some of which won us points with some cracking goals scored, I reckon we'd be pretty positive on him.
I don't particularly want Óscar to go but I would rather we sell him instead of Greaves if we need to balance the books. If we could get Haji Wright as Óscar's replacement, that would be even better. I think Wright would suit Rosenior's style a bit more as he's surprisingly quick for a lad of his size and likes to make runs in behind defenders whereas Óscar is more of a poacher and doesn't have much pace.
Do you ever suggest a realistic signing?
Haji Wright is a target for the club, apparently.
