We had some great players. Redmond was so much better than Elyonoussi and Djenepo. And I still think it’s weird that we let orbafarmy go.

You can speak to our new friends at Swansea about Obafemi. They can’t stand him - thought he had an awful attitude whilst he was there.

Classic Match 1

Mentioned already on this thread, our first match back in the premier league against the champions(fresh off the Agueroooo finale)

Ward-Prowse full league debut, Lambert starting from the bench.
If a match like this happened five years ago, I doubt anyone would remember it as it ended in defeat, but when you were away from the top flight for so long. It just had excitement and enthusiasm about it

Classic Match 3

January 2013 - Nigel Adkins last match, a 2-2 draw away at Chelsea, hot on the heels of a 5-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge in the cup. Rumors of Adkins departure were rife before kick off.

It was a tough start to the season and back in October after only one win in eight, Nigel responded in the most Adkins of fashions

Nothing to do with what happened on the pitch but this was when my love for this era of Saints peaked.

Amazing group of players, some of whom had made the climb with us, my favourite Saints manager and peak team spirit and upward momentum.

I had forgotten how much Danny Fox played in that first PL season until now.

Classic Matches 4

3-1 wins became something of theme in our charge up the divisions and two of our most memorable victories in our first season saw that result against champions City and Suarez era Liverpool

Jason Puncheon celebrations give a nod to his nervousness during Pochettinos first match at Everton

Classic Match 5

Famous victories at the Dell/St Mary’s were a stable of our first stint in the premier league, but victories away from home just didn’t happen.

Saints had a decent start to the season, but this morale boosting victory really propelled the team towards a memorable top 10 finish

After the winning goal, the ball got picked out of the net and eventually left Anfield, but Dejan Lovren’s head infamously never left.

Redmond got dog’s abuse from a large section of our supporters. When he left they just switched targets to Ely and Djeneppo
