Can you justify throwing in constant snarky comments on an opposition team's message board though? Seems a very odd use of time.
We arguably played our best football in the 12 months straight after the Leicester 9-0. In the 28 remaining games of that season, and the first ten of the next (so, equivalent to a 38 game season), we earned 61 points. That would usually be enough for 5th-7th place.
Most people take it in good humor though, and those that don't probably deserve to be wound up Plus the Portsmouth forum is very dead.
I was in O'Casey's in the Hague giving it my usual animated, exuberant, loud vocal support which upset two Chinese in Liverpool shirts no end. They were moaning saying I was over the top, the staff told them it was a sports bar where my behaviour was tolerated, encouraged and enjoyed adding if they didn't like there were other bars nearby.
With all the gloom and doom this is a good idea for a more upbeat thread. Good work @Paddy Podped Reading St Brendy's list makes you realise just how many good moments there have been over the last 10 years. For me there were two games that had us buzzing as we left the stadium. Both home against Spurs 2019 and 2020. The first was with Kevin Friend as ref and he was giving everything to Spurs, I have never seen such a one sided performance (until the following year). Despite Friend we won from a JWP freekick after being 1-0 down. We were under the cosh for most of the match but nicked it with two goals in five minutes and just about held on. The following year Mike Dean was ref and he put Kevin Friend in the shade for incompetence/bias. I always thought that Dean was a reasonable ref until that match. Everything, even throw ins were going Spurs' way. Again, despite some dreadful favouritism we held on to any early lead. In the first game Poch was Spurs manager and Mourinho in the second. Those two games are examples of why I think the Premiership is the only place to be. They were very tense but also very exciting followed by a huge sense of relief, I just can't believe we will find similar experiences in the Championship. We will always be a small fish but sometimes against the bigger sides we pulled off an unexpected result and it was brilliant entertainment.
Actually I've only posted two... Negative Southampton posts since before March, and one of them was in this thread.
I'm not at all teccy, could someone put up Ivan Golac's screamer please, think it was remarked at the time that, because it didn't deviate from the time it left his boot until it hit the back of the net, we could read the ball manufacturers name (Mitre or whatever) all the way. Equal to Cuco's.
