    5th: Southampton 2 – 0 Newcastle – Top of the league!


    Saints made a fantastic start to the season and found themselves in with a chance of going top of the league with a win over Newcastle...

    Saints were 0-2 down and struggling, before mounting a dramatic comeback that left Ronald Koeman forgetting he was spposed to be resting up after a leg injury!

    3rd: Swansea 0 - 1 Southampton


    It was effectively an end of season relegation playoff. Winners stay up, losers go down, with the draw favouring Swansea.

    Circumstances during the match had led to Mark Hughes playing 4-2-4 towards the end in an attempt to grab a goal, and sure enough the ball would fall to Manolo Gabbiadini.....

    2nd: Southampton 8 – 0 Sunderland


    Sometimes everything just clicks all in one afternoon, and this was one of those days for Saints.

    Helped out by one of the best own goals we've seen at St Mary's to open the scoring, Saints went on a ruthless scoring streak to destroy Gus Poyet's Sunderland team.

    1st: League Cup Semi Final 2nd Leg: Liverpool 0 – 1 Southampton - Shane Long goal


    A moment most Saints fans will never forget, whether you were listening on the radio, watching on TV or there at Anfield .

    We took a 1-0 lead from the first leg, and held out at 0-0 for most of the match, including a crazy wonder save from Fraser Forster. Then deep into injury time, as Liverpool threw everyone forward, Saints hit them on the break with Sims and Long creating that fairytale moment.

    As a free agent, Clark signed for Ashdod, a club in Israel. Ashdod is a port city about 20 miles from the Gaza Strip! He`s had to leave the country. Out of the frying pan and into the fire!
