I might be wrong but I'd think Coyle's stats are better than that

I would let Figs go, look extend Coyle think he has a year option in the clubs favour. Probably let Elder go and i am sure we cant loan Fleming out again doesn't his contract run out end of the season? Think i would let him go he cant get a game for Oxford.

Fleming signed a shiny new deal in pre-season didn't he?

Oxford tend to play with a back 4, Fleming does better as a wb with a back 3, imo.

It's a good listen and it's one of the two city pods I listen to and know of. It's Stockholm recommended. Which is as solid as a Chuck Norris endorsement (of a HCAFC pod)

However, it was quite funny when the last one dropped and no one on the pod had seen the match <laugh><laugh><laugh>

It wasn’t Greaves passing straight to the enemy, tripping himself over, getting tackled in his own box and letting every man and his dog goal side of him though. If it wasn’t for some of Greaves last ditch defending our atrocious defensive record would likely have been even worse.

I agree. People seem to be thinking correlation = causation regarding Greaves under Shota. Only thing I remember Greaves doing wrong under Shota was grappling and shirt-pulling in our box at opposition set-pieces which he’s gotten better at not doing.

The main culprit for our poor defending under Shota was Shota and Figueiredo. Figueiredo because he kept dropping clanger after clanger and still getting picked despite being on poor form and shot of confidence and Shota because he didn’t communicate his tactics well at all and the players looked lost and confused. That lack of communication and clear playing style made the players unsure of themselves, lacking confidence which inevitably lead to silly errors in our own half.

Was going to say that dropping Figs for Jones had a greater effect than dropping Elder, shifting greaves across to LB and bringing in Macca.

As you say though. Confidence and clarity is the biggest difference in the way we play under Rosenior.

Didn't realise that, i stand corrected...

Well in that case i agree then get him out on loan but somewhere he will get a lot more game time.

Aren’t Man City doing this now? I read Pep has said Walker pretty much won’t get a game with their current system as they want a different style fullback and pace is not a requirement. I understood it to be the fullback role on one side is almost a third at the back when without possession but then pushing into midfield when they have the ball (more Christie than Coyle and is Reynolds more attacking?). I guess that role would suit Greaves.

Yeah it does get very tough when games are at 2am or something and it's a work night or something like that, but we do watch the highlights, read match reports, etc. so we can still talk about it, and in those cases we tend to try to talk more about what the result means for us rather than the game itself. This morning for instance, I listened to the whole game as it started at 5am on a work day, so while I didn't watch it, I still have a good sense of what happened. But you're right, it's not ideal!

So wouldn’t be in Rosenior’s plans then. I suspectElder’s second half last night may have made Roseenior’s mind up about him too.

I think Rosenior has some difficult decisions to make re forwards. Does he accept Oscar, Tetteh and even Connolly were just unlucky this season with injuries? None of these had records which would suggest otherwise. Oscar hasn’t been totally convincing, but clearly does score goals. The other two showed glimpses that they could be special at this level. It’d cost a lot to bring in someone of a similar level, and even then there is no guarantee re injuries and form.
Also, could he get a tune out of Chadwick at this level? They say strikers will score goals at any level, so has got to be worth a punt, to see if he can step up? He’d also be a cheaper option. At his age, I’m not sure sending him out on loan again would be of any benefit?
If we kept them all, do we then have the budget for a fifth striker when Ros has made it clear he likes a smaller squad?
Personally I’d keep Tetteh and do everything I could to get Connolly. With the silly offers reported in the January window, I’d let Oscar go while his stock is high (especially if reports are true that he is wanting away) and use the budget to fund a marquee signing. I’d also give Chadwick his chance. At his age, it’s make or break time.
It’s always difficult to gauge his thoughts, as he believes every player in the squad is Messi in disguise.

Do people say strikers score goals at any level? That's a bit of a dumb thing to say.

Unfortunately Tetteh's latest muscular injury should not be a surprise to anyone. He's consistently had such problems, which is a great pity as he's a level above all those others you mention.
I'd be amazed if (23 y.o.) Chadwick makes it at this level now. Would love to be proved wrong, but I just don't see it. Doing well in National League North though.

I think our recruitment will focus more heavily on injury history, particularly muscle injuries.

I’ve said before that I’d like Bielik as a ball-winning defensive mid in the summer but I think the fact he he’s had two ACL tears on the same knee will make Rosenior quite wary of signing such a player given he’s expressed concern regarding signing players with a history of serious injuries.
