He also came out in an interview saying he doesn’t think he’s ready. (Which he isn’t) unless probably on the left of a back 3

    No.
If Ozan and Greaves are publicly saying they want to be here (as they seem to be) and under secure contract then it's fairly safe to say it'll take something good to turn their heads this summer.

Just a thought, could Greaves play in front of the back 4, in a sitting midfield role similar to Jones did? Stones has started to play in a similar position for Citeh.

Honestly mate I think you just let the 3 of them scrap it out for the 2 CB starting shirts and bring young Andy Smith back home from his cup exploits and L2 experience as the 4th centre half. .

Cut Figs loose. Re- sign Coyle and Elder, Re-loan Fleming and bring in a Christie standard left back and I think we'd be sorted defensively.

That is how I see it, just a thought that maybe in certain games he could fill that role. I would certainly see Andy Smith cover the 4th CB position.

A bit out of the blue, but a very welcome announcement, Macca deserves all the credit going, as he has been outstanding since he came into the side, and great to see the club has rewarded him with a new contract.

    I know its web talk...

Hull City preparing second move for 21-year-old – Tigers battling for player
    Lucas Sposito18th April 2023
Hull City’s chase for AS Roma fullback Bryan Reynolds suddenly became a real story in the Italian media.

On Tuesday morning, it was first Calcio Mercato who wrote that the Tigers are among the Championship clubs who want the 21-year-old signed this summer.

Now it’s time for AS Roma Live to back up Hull City’s interest and bring a few more details about this pursuit.

It’s claimed that Reynolds’ agent recently went to England to speak to the Tigers, who are already making their moves to get the signing done.
The website writes that Hull City first made an offer for a loan deal, and now are ‘studying’ a ‘new definitive offensive’.

Reynolds is currently loaned by Roma to Westerlo. The report claims the Belgian side are about to present their offer for a permanent deal, as they will bid less than the €7m buying option they have.

Other clubs such as Feyenoord and Anderlecht are also interested in Reynolds, so Hull City must have that in mind when they present their definitive attempt.

Three yanks at City next season? Reynolds and De Le Fuente down the left, Hadji Wright up top

I don’t think we need a new right-back. However, Christie is 30 and Coyle is 27. Can’t see a USA international being happy with being third choice in the Championship though.

He wouldn't be third choice surely, he'd be competing with Christie for the starting XI if he came, and Coyle would either be moved on or used even more sporadically.

Unsurprising update from Rosie on the keeper situation - "I think it's unlikely that Nathan will come back here, he's a very good goalkeeper, a great character and a great lad but with Karl being here, Karl at the moment is in the driving seat and he's someone who I'm looking forward to, hopefully, working with in the long-term if we can get that sorted out."

If it's true and we're looking at spending millions on a new right back, then it would clearly be to come in as first choice.

It's not a priority, so it would seem a rather odd one.

That’s what I mean. If we’re spending millions on a young right-back who already has a full season in Belgium under his belt, then he’d be coming as a nailed-on starter imo. Make more sense if we signed a left-back and just activated Coyle’s year.

Darlow has played professional football for over 12 years, with more than half of that time being spent as a backup keeper.

He's coming towards the end of his career - maybe around 3 years left.

I'm sure he wants regular first team football - which we seem to be keen to offer him. Hopefully that pull will go some way to ensure that he becomes a permanent signing.

I’m not sure that’s true, Greavesy’s best games at left back came early doors when he played inverted, dropping into the central areas. This happened more when we had Christie though as he gets much higher than Coyle. Don’t see it as a long term solution but I think Rosie could go back to that once we have players back fit

    Add McCann too.
There was this myth he couldn’t play on the right, which he seems to have put to bed in the last few games. Plus both managers put their faith in Greaves and he never got injured. When Shota wanted to play three at the back, he was deemed ok to play central (or was that he didn’t trust him in a two?). What a waste, when during those periods we were shipping goals for fun, and had a blind faith in Greavesy. Would like to see some stats of goals conceded with Macca playing vs not playing since we returned to the championship.

Ticks some of the boxes we’re looking for; he’s got the height Rosie is looking for at 185cm, good injury record, and fairly good on the ball.
