WAR! What is it good for?

I'm currently sitting on the fence with the war, because I don't know what the best outcome is for everyone.

I've never hidden the fact I'm no particular fan of the EU, and I've voiced my distaste over the years of NATO's bombs of peace - so to an extent I get where Putin was coming from and how do you stop it's advancement, some of which in the Ukraine was tailored by Biden long before he became president.

So surely the above means I fall on the side of Putin, well yes initially but Putin called it wrong, predictably funnily enough, via his very own concerns, because the EU and NATO were not going to let him just walk into the Ukraine without a fight, a fight that had supplied funds and weapons from us.

Trouble is Putin's very own fears have also been his downfall for me, because at the same time I cannot support the actions of a madman. I heard concerns that if we allowed Putin to walk into Ukraine, then which country is next, I hear that and yes it's a concern.

So what now, I don't know, I just don't see a solution, I only see more deaths.

Maybe China hold the key, tell Putin to stop, and tell Biden to get back in his box. But we all know that the EU are going to push through Ukraine being a member, thus it's goes full circle because to Putin that's like a red rag to a bull.

Just a shame we can't stop this nonsense as the money could be better spent in Turkey and Syria rehoming people.

He's defo fcked up and fuelled the very fear he had which is to have other nations scrambling to join NATO. And the thing is he should've seen that would be the outcome, even if he'd won. But then, that's the problem with being a meglomaniac, those around you who should be giving you good counsel become yes men bcos they're **** scared of being sent to the gulag for suggesting you would likely create an absolute ****storm which won't end well for Russia if they followed that path.

His best bet without a doubt imo was to meet with Zelenski back in 2021 and negotiated a deal that guaranteed they wouldn't join NATO in return for economic incentives and trade around energy.

However we see Zelenski and Ukranians now, I remember before Russia's invasion that they were telling the rest of the world, particularly U.S. and U.K. to stop talking up war and egging the situation. At that time there was still some sense of camaradarie between the people of both countries.

I'm sure the Donbas would've come up from the Ukrainian's side in any negotiations and I've no answer to that one, but still feel something could've been agreed.

I do think they should have a say in their country, but should it be at such great expense to so many and the loss of so many lives of all nationalities and such immense distruction by mankind. When does the madness stop, when Putin concedes, when Ukraine has won back every inch of territory, and at what cost. Let alone I expect some Russians probably believe certain parts of Ukraine belong to them.

Hungary are already demonstrating signs of not wanting the conflict to carry on, Biden can only carry on as long as the American electorate allows him to, which will be sometime in 2024, so a year from now, where will we be, any nearer a resolution, America under the Republicans pulling out, more death more destruction, until someone loses the plot completely and presses a button.

Don't get me wrong, I don't care if it does carry on, I don't give a shhite if we get wiped off the planet, the human race has become tiresome in the wars that it creates, all so said humans can have a say but is there really much difference between Russian and Ukranian/EU life, outside of what Western media would like us to believe.

There was a documentary on SKY this morning, I think it's supposed to be a kids program, probably aimed at teenagers, titled 'Children of the War.'

From what I briefly caught...It featured a family that had to evacuate Ukraine, well I say family, from what I saw, the kids. The parents got left behind because they had elderly relatives to look after - the kids came to the UK. It showed where the daughter eventually returned to Ukraine for a visit (40 hour journey by coach), and her parents were living in their bombed apartment, no electricity, no running water and risk of future bombings. Anyway, the girl went on a sight seeing tour to see how much damage was done to her city, and that Banksy picture was shown during it.

I can't imagine what that must be like for the parents. Imagining your kids being evacuated to another country and not seeing them day after day for months or over a year. Truly heartbreaking.

It was a hard watch from all perspectives. Imagine the people in this country living without electric and running water. Imagine if your old and need to rely on medical supplies as part of your daily routine. Children having to grow up really quick in a foreign land.

There's a girl who joined our school who has come over with her mother. Everyone was very welcoming and then after a couple of months some of the other kids were getting a bit put out that she seemed unhappy- she's getting free accommodation, food, education and people are being nice. We had to point out that her brother and father are missing and her old house and school where she lived her entire life are now a bomb site. It could be that.

They're only kids so ignorance is understandable but as an adult I cannot claim to have any real understanding of the feelings behind the situation I'm factually relaying. We can watch it, we can try and understand better but cannot expect to actually understand other than it's properly ****.

Tbh I stopped following it in recent years but the hell it went through for over a decade (probably two) was nothing less than criminal. Even the Americans never got what they wanted out of it. Last I heard the strategic base they built there was abandoned.
