There's one here. I have been underwhelmed by Tufan, not that I knew who he was before we signed him. I saw the flaws in the pre season friendly at Peterboro when they ran us ragged. He was obviously unfit and overweight then and it showed in the early games because there was no doubting his ability when he had the ball, he just seemed to go missing for long periods of the game and his head ( and Seri's for that matter) used to drop when we went one down under Shota. So to me Tufan is a luxury player for us. It is good to see him come on for the last 20 minutes and for that time on the pitch he can manage a couple of touches that can influence the game. But over a full 90 mins? Not in this league. Woods is a different type of player altogether, he does play for 90 mins and he is a talker too on the pitch, almost captain like, in encouraging and making sure the team keeps it's shape. He can also pick a pass, and he can put his foot in when needed. Maybe not a show pony but a good solid no frills seasoned professional who will no doubt come a lot cheaper and be more reliable over 90 min that Tufan. Maybe not George Honeymans standard but as near as we've got. So for me if Tufan wants to go home then take the cash City and use it elsewhere.
It shouldn't be complicated, but maybe it would help the rest of us if what you wrote matched what it is that you are wanting to say?
? I said he's clearly realised Docherty works better than Woods and it's resulted in wins so I'd expect him to stick with it. What are you struggling with?
Some fair points. We can agree to differ on others. The reality is that neither Woods or Tufan are a good partner for Seri in the middle. I think someone posted a stat recently that showed Woods completed nil tackles in one recentish game? He is a neat & tidy footballer for sure, but he isn't a tackler, he has no pace and no physical presence. For me he's the definition of a run of the mill CCC / L1 player. That's not a good match for Seri. I'd be sorry to see Tufan go. You don't get 60-odd caps in midfield for Turkey without being decent (and he's still only 27). It seems a waste that we can't find a way to use his quality, but if that's the case then, sadly, I agree, the money is better used elsewhere.
Got to say I am really pleased with how Rosy has made changes that have turned this habit of leaking goals around. He has brought players back to fit his system and has already made us into a team. If players want to leave let them go. If Rosy gets a spine of his own choosing into this team then I reckon will will be ok. Looking forward to seeing how this pans out.
You posted "The 2 games that we've won, which is why I think perhaps he's changed his approach.". This implies he's now changed his approach because we've won those 2 games. The fact is he changed his approach before we won those games, not as a result of winning those games. Yes, I too expect him to stick with it. He'd be mad not to (unless he's bringing someone better in). Maybe best let it go before we bore others (further).
There is a clause in the loan agreement with Chelsea that would see Baxter's temporary move made permanent in the summer, but Hull Live understands that option is unlikely to be activated. Both Baxter and Vale, it's understood, are likely to return to Stamford Bridge but midfielder Simons is expected to remain at the MKM Stadium having impressed Rosenior since his arrival in November, and is likely to be involved against the Cottagers on Saturday as City look to start 2023 with a home victory in the FA Cup.
With Baxter, Vale, Tufan and Sinik all looking to be on the way out. That's a lot of money being saved
I’d have Tufan playing in the attacking role ahead of Seri and Partner. I wonder what the real reason is that he hasn’t really been featuring, I can’t believe it’s purely because God doesn’t fancy him. There has to be something going on behind the scenes that nobody outside the training ground knows about.
Probably in the short term, but I don't think anyone can say he was the long term solution. But I like Honeyman and he got a long term deal down south on hopefully very good money, so it's great for him
looking at some stattys regarding doc doc has more tackles, more dribbles, more aerial duels won, than woods and this is not a slight on woods, woods is similar to seri, hence why woods has more passes attempted and complete vs doc the team also has a net positive goals to concede ratio with doc on the pitch at +1.30
