There's a French restaurant in Hexham that won some Gordon Ramsey best restaurant award. Couldn't tell you what its called it whereabouts in Hexham it is like, so I guess that's been absolutely no help whatsoever.

Last time I was in Newcastle I went to Marco Polos on Dean Street which was nice, as somebody else said it's not the poshest in the world (if you're looking to wow her with some michelin star cuisine its not your place) but its pretty trendy and has great food.
