Worst bit is my dad can talk about seeing players like Clough, Monty, Hurley etc. And I have the Reid team and Chris turner as my idolsSame for my dad mate. The 3 of us go and grandad loves it.

No one ever said the football was the issue, World cups are always class, it's where it was that was the issue.
Chris Turner was class mate, and Reidys team were a massive success in the modern era. Make sure he hears your stories are heard as well. All part of who we are.
We all have our own era of players though. Your lad will find his as well. It could be Roberts, Amad and Ballard and he will tell you how fast and strong etc they are. My son keeps telling me the fifa ratings of our squad

I was 5 when Chris turner was in goal, to 5 year old me he was unbeatable and the best goalkeeper the world has ever seen

I will add to that that Chris Makin, Paul Butler and Jody Craddock were and always will be absolute legends in a red and white shirt.
I have a big spot in my heart for Butler. Every team I have played in, that was good, had a lad like him. Baath reminds me of him now.

All good players. Makin and Bulter were hard as nails. Craddock had a brilliant partnership with Darren Williams at CB, they complimented each other really well.
What a night that was, behind the goal, couldn't speak for two days after that.

He was ****ing class Julio like! And would have probably retired in a SAFC shirt if we hadn't been relegated!
Been out Xmas shopping and came back home to find Argentina 2-0 up with under quarter of an hour to go, with France having been (apparently) pretty crap. Then: boom! what a final hour or so that was!
