Chunk I have something similar with my 15 year old grandson whose team is Morecambe. End of last season all his mates who used to go to the matches with him jumped ship and started going to Burnley. His dad isn't always able to take him so me and the missus bought him season ticket for this season and I take him to all the home games, he stands with what I term as the daft lads behind the goal, next to a clown with a drum and I sit in the main stand. Travelling there and back has become a special time for me, I get chance to talk football with him, without his phone in his hand, which is a real pleasure, he's a typical teenager with one word responses but I've got him talking in full sentences now Morecambe are bottom of the league and definitely heading for Division 2 but it won't put him off so I might be watching that league next year. I really treasure this time with him and will do it until he's had enough which I'm hoping isn't any time soon, I'll never get this chance again to educate his football knowledge and enthusiasm and I look forward to every home game dispite the standard of football.
That's what football brings to so many of us. I love spending time with my dad and the older ones on the branch bus as they talk about players they saw or games they went to. The image this afternoon of my boy, transfixed by the TV will stay with me for the rest of my life
please log in to view this image My World Cup XI. It's a strange one as there's about 6 certainties and then you can make a case for another 15 players to fill the last spots.
They did put on a very good world cup. Standard of refereeing was great bar the England v France. But they should not have been given it in the first place that is for sure.
Was a but silly that. I see the Argentina team had to be lifted out by helicopter from their victory parade after fans jumped onto the open top bus from a bridge. Crazy stuff.
