I think that was what was so good about Japan's winner, the player didn't even let it cross his mind he would miss, it becomes psychological otherwise which now seems to be Canada's problem.
I agree. It’s composure. It’s hard I guess because your at the highest level and finishing comes natural to most world class strikers.

Belgium are going to get away with this because Canada are tiring.

Wouldn’t surprise me if it ends up 2/3 nil

Eden Hazard is atrocious nowadays. Lucky he still gets picked for Belgium.

Clearly had too many tapas nights in Madrid.
Football has evolved and players like Hazard can’t do what they used to because players are better at tactics etc.

Bale is in the same bracket. You could argue Ronaldo is now also.

Bale and Ronaldo are more down to age than any evolution around them. Ronaldo still hit 16 or 17 league goals last season and the season before Bale had the best goals per minute ratio in the Prem with us. Their quality is undeniable, just don’t really have the legs to be amongst the very best anymore.

Hazard joined Madrid in his prime but just got fat, lazy and injured too much and when he has played he’s looked like a raffle winner.

This is the first undeserving win of the tournament so far. Belgium look shabby.

If Canada had any composure/ quality in the final third they’d have been hitting a similar scoreline to us and Spain.

I don't know mate. Canada didn't deserve anything because they lacked any quality up front.

They could've played for another 5 hours and they still wouldn't have scored.

Ooooft what a result for Japan. Really looking forward to Spain/Germany on Sunday and hopefully Japan can win again beforehand meaning Germany will have to.

Even with a few dull 0-0's the opening round of fixtures have been brilliant and still 2 groups to go.

That Gavi goal too... Best so far imo.

Cameroons good at creating chances, but when it comes to pulling the trigger, they all want to be the next Roger Milla, instead of passing the fooking ball!

Cameroonian scores against countrymen to give Swiss man all the points

Uruguay v S Korea should be a banger

shame about Son being injured or I would have fancied them for the win but going for the Uruguayans 2-1

Bentancur vs Son up next.

Uruguay are my dark horses for the tournament, first chance to see if I have any clue about football or not.
