    The guy that was the Chief Engineer for Signalling on the Cross Rail Project spent time in Germany because Siemens provide part of our Signalling Tech

    He said the English translation for the German word for pylon was

    "The tall grey triangular structure that carries the high voltage cables from the Power Station to the Sub Station"
