Yeah. A few more hattricks like last night, between now and January. And maybe a good World Cup thrown in. The queue for him will be backing up round the block.
It is annoying about not getting a striker. Overall it has been the best window for us in years and we clearly have more ambition and financial power than ever before. But the fact remains we needed goals and went into this window desperately needing a striker - yet ended up with 1 less than last season. Huge season for Che Adams & Mara, if neither of them score 10/15+ goals we will still probably struggle to finish higher than 15th.
Yeah I don’t really know what you do with Djenepo going forward. He’s not going to be left sided forward in a 4-3-3 and he can’t play 10 in 4-2-2-2. Don’t think he’s going to have much left. He’ll have to reinvent himself again as a 6!
https://www.hampshirelive.news/spor...transfer-southampton-signing-teenager-7536814 Dibling confirmed as returning to Saints. Very strange and shows the grass isn't always greener! Glad both clubs put the player first as he is just 16.
Didn’t they pay a hefty fee? I assume we returned it. It is a useful message for our other young players as well. Hopefully that improves our chances of holding onto Ballard
I’d rather have our forward options than Brighton’s, even if we stay with what we have now. And they’re doing okay.
Believe it was £1.5m and i assume we were happy to "refund" them as we didn't want to sell initially. Our academy was already strong, we added the 2 spurs boys, maybe the 2 city lads (depending on 1st team involvement) and now Dibling returns. Future looking bright! Hopefully one or two of our own youngster make it into the first team. Its great to help grow young players from other acedmies but nothing like one (or two) of your own!
Per other reports, no money either way. Think it might've been an issue if he was 17, but he's not yet on a professional contract (though you'd have to assume he signs one here now). Dom Ballard turned pro already, so we have a couple years 'til it becomes an issue again.
