I'd take Waghorn. Thought he was Coventry's best player yesterday, drove them forward and caused loads of problems for our defence
we need defenders - we have the worst defensive record in the Championship - we are shipping too many goals - we are allowing too many crosses to come in and we aren't dealing with the crosses once they come into the middle
Inclined to agree... even under constant cosh last season, Greaves with McL alongside conceded 1.2 per game... and that included a couple of 5's...
Agree we need more cover, but have to say I feel quite sorry for Mcloughlin. He was really good last season in the centre of a back three. Countless occasions when he was in the right place to block a cross and I'd say probably less error prone than Figueireido who seems like a good character but dare I say it might have something of the Jordy De Wijs about him?
Figueiredo has had a really interesting career - top of the class throughout his early years at Sporting CP, capped numerous times at all youth levels up to u21 and made captain, picked for the Olympics, played alongside numerous high profile Premier League stars of today… then in 2016 he fell out with manager Jorge Jesus and was loaned out, and never seemed to fully recover. Tobias was blooded in the Sporting first team by Marco Silva.
That’s a great comparison. You could see they were targeting him. They let him have the ball and didn’t press him at all. Forest did say this about him to be fair, although aerially I don’t think McLoughlin dominates enough like Figs
