Just gotta trust the club aristocracy, take the best from what we see on the park. Have a bit of hope and trust....

But I'm still not trading Seri or Tufans contracts for Honeymans. I'll stand by that.

You keep confusing spend with profit and loss. FFP is a limit on losses, not on spend. Spending on better players is designed to increase gate income, finish higher up the league and maybe aim for promotion. So spend on Tufan and Seri isn’t the FFP deadweight you keep staying it is.

Was putting Honeyman on 20k per week going to propel City to the upper reaches of the division, attract new fans and win us promotion? I’d say no. But Tufan has much more potential for that to happen, which is why his wages, while a gamble, are a benefit to FFP, not a drain.

The Tigers retain an interest in Brentford striker Halil Dervişoğlu and know they will likely need to wait if they are to strike a loan deal for the Turkish international.

City have received positive indications from the Premier League side that they will sanction Dervişoğlu's exit with the player keen to come to the MKM Stadium, but that will only happen if Thomas Frank secures the services of a frontman he's chasing - the arrival of Mikkel Damsgaard will have no bearing on a move for the highly-rated 22-year-old.

Owner Acun Ilicali remains interested in doing a deal to bring Dimitrios Pelkas to the club but that is a deal likely to go down to the wire, if it does indeed, get done, though talk of a £3m move for Fenerbahce's Greek international are believed to be wide of the mark, at this stage.

Elsewhere, the club have moved on from a target Ilicali held discussions with in Istanbul last week though talks with an attack-minded frontman remain ongoing with his club.

City want a loan to buy deal with the players' parent club reluctant to do anything other than a straight loan, though the Tigers remain positive that a deal can be struck in the coming days.

Sources closes to City's transfer dealings have told Hull Live that the club remain energised going into the final weeks of the window and believe they will be able to add further quality to Shota Arveladze's squad, to give the Georgian the best possible chance of challenging at the top end of the Championship.

There's also a growing awareness from bosses that there is a need to add depth to Arveladze's squad given the relentless nature of the Championship season, particularly with the World Cup in Qatar taking out a month of action, meaning there will be an increase in midweek fixtures.

Jeremy Mpobi Ngakia is an active target with Arveladze keen to add competition to the right side of the pitch owing to the continued absence of Josh Emmanuel, though he is not thought to be their only option in that position.

Arveladze, Ilicali, and vice-chairman Tan Kesler are also keeping close tabs on the loan market and remain mindful of remaining within FFP limits set out by the EFL.

A growing awareness that we'll have a lot of midweek games? That shouldn't really be news to them. Even in a normal season there's plenty.

20 days until the transfer window closes.
It takes our signings 20 days or so for their work permits to come through then another two weeks to announce them.

Who said and where is it documented that any player at City is on '£30k a week' ? By documented I don't mean anything that has appeared as click bait on Hull Live.

by that logic, coyle is our most important player then because he's captain? Greaves is good and I'd rather him stay, but by the sounds of it we've offered decent terms but he wants more. I also think greaves is better than Mc, but if he was the same age
Is it just me, or do these targets seem to be swapping between loan and permanent every time Baz provides an update? Get things can change, but there does to be a fair bit of contradiction and inconsistency with each update - not wanting to point the finger too much though, sure he's told a limited amount and things change very quickly

You're conflating one with the other. I'm saying Greaves is rated highly and this is reflected in him being VC, not that he is rated highly because he's VC. You're quite right that there's not always a clear correlation, but a young kid being made VC of the club is a big statement and an indication of his place in the squad.

Giving him the vc is a sweetener they’ve obviously not offered him enough which is ****ing stupid
I would say greavesy is not a greedy money grabber and his old man is a decent bloke too so pay the man. he definitely deserves to be a top earner

That's definitely my sense too. "We'll give you the vice captaincy which you should value so highly you're happy to take less money".

I too don't think Greaves is a money grabber you can tell by his drive and desire when he plays what he thinks about the club, if some of the squad had this we would be a far better team

What's he got left on his contract? Play it out to a Bosman then take the signing on fee dosh. Its a no brainer. Good luck to him. I'd move now for the kid Edwards at Peterborough, unless he's already done so.

Edit...It would appear that Chelsea are already sniffing.

Would it not be fair to assume considering Acun said that the average wage at the club was 20k? This is paired with the fact there is still a large amount on Allam negotiated smaller contracts, suggesting majority of the new faces are on that type of wage?

Any business plan should have included making the likes of Greaves and Honeyman in line with our top earners.

Greaves is 22, he’s not due the full adult NMW rate until he’s 23. He needs to knuckle down & earn it.
