A Cup run would be good. Being a mid-table side with minimal risk of relegation who can have proper tilts at the Cup could be pretty enjoyable. I look at a season Palace had last season and imagine that could be pretty fun. Doing the double over Man City, not (I think) getting belted in any games, playing decent quality football, with some good young players coming through.
We don't seem to have the players for the "system" we are trying to play, which is crazy considering the incoming transfers.
Really enjoyed watching them beat the Arse 3-0 last season. Thought they improved a lot under Vierra.
I was aware of his past record, just that Acun seems to have confidence in him, so I think he will be given time, whether that is right or wrong only TWT. I must say IMO often managers are not given enough time to get this right, it has shown on some occasions when an owner doesn't panic and sack the manager things turn out okay.
I must admit losing Alfie Jones would be a significant loss to the team and squad. He finished the season as our first choice right-sided centre half and had formed a good understanding with Greaves and Macca at the centre of our defence. He has had spells out with injuries in the past but he is a quality player when fit.
Yeah, but who? Alfie leaving for some no-mark from the Turkish league who Acun’s mates with is a huge risk. I don’t have a problem with new additions, and we should be looking abroad for talent, but not at the expense of domestic talent and proven leaders in the squad. It’s a team game and messing the dynamic of the squad can have dire consequences.
Allams did that with Grant. Got a league title out of it. Must admit I didn’t agree with the decision at the time but proved to be correct.Give Shota time. Too early to judge
I think I’m going to join the negative gang on here, something doesn’t feel right about the upcoming season. Pre season has ended and it feels more chaotic than under the Allams! Also while on pre season Tufan would go out most nights to restaurants with one of the security guards to feast on all sorts of food, I think that just shows his level of commitment.
There’s a local security firm that the club uses when Acun is in town, the main guy is called Lemi and he’s originally from Turkey. He joined the club on pre season and was uploading pictures on Instagram of himself and Tufan hanging out after training most days, often eating! And it feels chaotic because none of the 1st team have even played a game together, we don’t know our strongest line up, don’t know the formation, just feels like a disaster waiting to happen.
-> VERSUS OP. "Also while on pre season Tufan would go out most nights to restaurants with one of the security guards to feast on all sorts of food, I think that just shows his level of commitment" FFS
None of the first team have played a game together....are you sure about that? When you say "we" who do you mean? And let's just say if lemi is doing that, I doubt he'll be with us long
Looks to have lost weight since he signed, but still looks over. He's certainly down compared to that photo from when he went back to Fenerbache.
