It was a daft example but there's a reason we're spoken about as having the most ffp room and it wasn't so we could sign a few players on 2-4m fees and a few big free agent wages after selling a player for 16m.

16 million doesn't cover that much. If Seri is on 30k a week that's 4.5m or.more than a quarter of the KLP fee over 3 years by itself.

I do enjoy the irony of Orange getting wound up over an imaginary FFP issue after scorning people for overreacting to negative rumours previously.

Don’t know why this L.Ü.E is considered reliable. He reported on Seri a week after it was initially reported, he may have reported on Haji Wright but that went nowhere anyway.
He also said Seri was using his wife as an excuse when the move was supposedly off<laugh>

I'm happy to criticise where there is a reason. Saying things like we lowballed and disrespected Honeyman and were only spending KLP money despite a meeting over FFP being reported. Suggesting Acun was skint, assuming Greaves has hit a hitch - there was no evidence for and still isn't.

I enjoy the irony of you refusing to believe something there is at least some evidence for,. So honours even.

L. U. E tweeting there is an FFP issue to be resolved but he's agreed in principle.

By itself I wouldn't be concerned but as Baz has reported an FFP meeting and described the nwakaeme deal as beyond complex, then evidence is starting to stack up that ffp is becoming a consideration at least - and we only need to average a 13m loss each year to be getting close.

Given we've spend 11. 5m in fees and handed out some hefty contracts, I don't believe that's beyond the realms of possibility.

Baz hasn't retracted his report yet that it's more or less done, so we'll see what transpires.

Also might be worth keeping an eye on Longman and Jones situations as HT2 doesn't just chuck suggestions on here without there being something behind it.

For a third time, it doesn't matter if we get 4m a year for KLP, or 1m a year for 16 years. We sold him for 16m so we record 16m of revenue in the 22/23 accounts. Yes we may well be committing well above the KLP fee but we would have to be spending in the region of 100m above KLP in order to breach FFP in the coming year.
Wrong, you only record in any individual years accounts funds actually received during that year.

Yeah, but who? Alfie leaving for some no-mark from the Turkish league who Acun’s mates with is a huge risk. I don’t have a problem with new additions, and we should be looking abroad for talent, but not at the expense of domestic talent and proven leaders in the squad. It’s a team game and messing the dynamic of the squad can have dire consequences.

Depends who comes in and whether he goes I suppose.

I’m yet to see him report on something that hasn’t happened yet though. Nwakaeme maybe the first and I’m sceptical.

Haji Wright - Said deal was agreed which Tan confirmed.

Seri - Said it was going to happen even when Baz was still saying it wasn’t going to happen.

Tufan - Reported it, admittedly similar time to Baz.

Yagiz has reported on others which haven’t happened such as Fernando.

I’m not one to talk as I love the news and gossip but people here just need to wait and see.

Unless we receive the revenue this year we don’t book £16m of revenue but the amount of the fee paid this year. However, any amount of the total transfer fee above his existing book value will be booked as profit for the year.

FFP goes on submitted accounts for the year though, doesn't it?

I'm thinking 39m in the rolling period above KLP income (and other income), not 100m headroom this year.

And we are making expenditure decisions now which will affect future years, not just this one. Maybe they are simply ensuring compliance over the forthcoming years, not just this one?
