I think that people are being a bit harsh on KLP now he seems to have gone. I thought, last season, KLP was good in a **** side, but overall he was slightly above average. On an off day, he was a bit anonymous, but he had very few of them. Is he worth £20 million? I’d say no, but Brentford want him & they want to pay, they obviously see that potential. However, to compare him to Bowen is like trying to compare an F1 car to a Lada. Bowen is a strong player, more built, I’d say he can play & be comfortable in the centre, KLP is still a skinny kid with pace. For me, if any team can get him better it’s probably Brentford. I think within 4 years, he’ll be off to a bigger team.
And his name above the drivers side of the windscreen and above the passengers side, “ma biatch”* *Please note: I have no idea who the love of his life is. He/She May we’ll be a lovely human. I wish them both well.
Jarrod Bowen: 52 goals/12 assists in 143 appearances, all but a handful in the Championship. KLP: 30 goals/10 assists in 122 across League One and the Championship. You can see why the similarities were drawn, however Bowen managed 14 in his first full season, then 21, then 16 (in just 29) in his final season before leaving for West Ham. He'd proven himself for two and a half Championship seasons, which is why WHU were so confident in signing him. If KLP gets his head down, he can go all the way, no question. He was one of our best players in a squad that was, by and large, pretty mediocre, so the sum we're getting for him is ridiculous really given that by Championship standards there are players who performed far better last season. I can't imagine what we'd have got for Bowen under Acun, but this will give us a pretty big buff to whatever we get for Jacob Greaves.
Eventually he will if he keeps playing like he is doing, yeah. We can't stop this from happening, we're not at the level yet that we can convince young lads to stay when Premier League football is dangled in front of them. All we can do is get the most out of them while they are here and then make the most of the money when it inevitably comes our way.
Oh they can get ****ed, there's no way he'd go to Boro, it was embarrassing for everybody involved that they even dared to ask.
Talks are on going, these things aren't simple, quick and easy these days. I've absolutely no doubt he'll sign a long term deal.
I would have thought so. I was more worried about losing Fleming if I'm honest, I'm buzzing he's signed because he's another one that could easily feature in the Premier League one day.
Now KLP is off, I think we need a second winger in addition to Sinik. Preferably one with a decent goalscoring pedigree to lessen the burden on the strikers. Estupinan Tetteh Sinik Winger Holding Mid/CB Attacking RWB
Williams can play on the wing. I’d like to see him given the chance, he’s always looked decent when he’s played in my opinion.
Williams was really starting to show some quality when he got his injury - could be a definite contender.
Williams, Billy Chadwick, possibly both & others, as back ups. I’d like to think “the kids” have a shot at a first team chance.
