Totally agree. Wasn’t he runner up to Honeyman in the League One season? I agree, he didn’t do a lot wrong last season, apart from dare to challenge a local boy for his shirt. He certainly doesn’t deserve the criticism he gets on here.
Yeah, I'd been thinking the same. I guess it really shows from him one hell of a commitment, belief and ambition to grow, develop, test himself, experience, etc. Fair play.
So in comparison he looks like he may offer his fullback more protection. Looks like he can win the ball back high up the pitch. Maybe be relying on Fleming on the overlap for crosses though - but unless you can compare Turkish Luper Lig with the Championship (or Humber Prem) those stats don't exactly compare apples with apples. Guess we'll find out what he's got (or not) soon enough.
I refer to Mark Twain who once said “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics”. it’s great having all these bar charts and xG and what not,but it’s still presumptive to cast an assertion on a new player (Sinik) before they’ve set foot on a pitch in City attire,as some on twitter especially have done today. The kid is an international and is obviously eager for a crack at English football,so it could be a really shrewd piece of business by the club.
He's pretty rapid too. It'll be interesting to see if he can cope with the physical side of the game as he looks about as robust as a tracing paper fire guard.
Acun and Tan and the rest of the people have started to build a team for now and the future it is really exciting wondering what is next, we have players who are coming in that are already quality and wanting to prove themselves and also believe they can realise their own dreams of playing in the premiership, players we thought we could never bring here. I think KLP was desperate for it now he wanted out but these players will want to take the club the fans and most of all Acun to the premiership, once there i believe Acun will keep us there to, KLP got a 6 year deal that is brilliant for the lad as long as he is happy to play a season in the premiership and 5 in the championship i can see this club getting there and staying there this time.
Like you said this kid is Rapid they got to catch him first and by the time they do he will have already made his pass. And does not mean this kid won't work harder either.
Looks like a lot of similarities. And that's one of the things that jumped out for me too - seems to be very aware of team mates and happy to play someone else in. Capped by Turkey all the way through his youth, including 7 appearances for Turkey U23's, and now 3 recent appearances for Turkey senior team at 23. He's no mug! I'm sorry to see KLP go, local lad and all that, but this looks like clever business for us, with a lot of money spare for investment. Not that we should set him up as a direct replacement for KLP; he's obviously his own man with his own strengths & shortcomings.
No that's true, I wasn't questioning his work ethic, but obviously against the likes of Millwall and Huddersfield, who have big lads who like to get stuck in, he'll need to be on his toes. I think it's a fantastic signing, obviously did enough to impress the Turkey manager so easily good enough for us.
But he would have also played against teams like that in Turkey each country has teams like those so won't be nothing he won't expect. And we have big lads on the way just they not signed yet but they will, which you probably already know.
Agree with this, but if he comes in on that left side then those are the comparisons which will be made, inevitably.
You'd like to think that if (when) we swap places with Brentford there might be a gentlemans agreement we get first crack at KLP coming back. Would have no hard feelings whatsoever either
