In the eyes of a few perhaps, I think the majority of people just thought he was useless, even in his own cabinet.

The whole thing is a shambles, he's been the worst PM I've ever seen.

He's a compulsive liar and not fit for office imo.

I really hope the next one is better and can't see how they could be worse.

I will , at least for an initial period , have respect for whoever takes it on. They must be crackers . There’s plenty of serious issues to worry about , but they have to immediately and firstly sort out the party and convince the population to reinstate some trust and believe in them - and that itself ain’t going to be easy

Fantastic news that he's finally stepped down, though the autumn isn't soon enough. The list of failures of this government in the last 3 years is embarrassing. Hopefully they choose someone who had nothing to do with the recent cabinet. It's a big no on Truss, Sunak, Javid, Patel and Zahawi for me. Tom Tugendhat and Penny Mordaunt seem to be the most respectable and trustworthy options.

I'm ready to see a Labour government at this point. The whole fallacy of beergate and how it was used to counter partygate has made Labour look far more responsible and trustworthy in all of this. The Conservative government stinks right now of sleaze and corruption. If there was an election tomorrow I think it would be a Labour win.

Whoever finally succeeds Johnson, they need to sort out the cost of living crisis and find a Brexit solution on N.Ireland that actually puts the whole thing to bed once and for all.

Sadly it'll be a decade before we start to see the end of the Brexit negotiations and the emergence of any real benefits ...

... I certainly can't see any at the moment.

I'm not sure there'll ever be any tangible benefits. What I'm hoping is that they can just fix the glaring issue in Ireland and start to work on a few trade deals so the damage is minimal.

Boris Johnson is what he is. A corrupt liar.

Tony Blair is a war criminal who lied to us all. I think that's worse than whatever BJ has done.

Brexit is far from done, and we are still living in the aftermath of the Bush/Bliar axis. As we know two wrongs don't make it right, its the system that gives these morons power that's all wrong imo.

Both participated in the breaking of laws put there to protect us all in the pursuit of power and authority.
I feel like Starmer is dull but more ethical and businesslike. Ultimately I think a liberal partnership would be great ie greens Labour Lib Dems SNP with a concession of a form of PR but not at the cost of losing Scotland, with him at the head

Wouldn't it be interesting if Northern Ireland had an independence Referendum, to become an independent Nation?

They couldn't join the EU, (probably?), due to their financial set up.
They COULD though come to any agreement that suited with GB.
They COULD offer Free Trade terms to Eire, and therefor to The EU.

And gentlemen in Brussels, now-a-bed Shall think themselves accurs'd that they were there when this conundrum landed on their desks.
