He'll play in one of the 3 central spots. If we can get Seri, you'd imagine the 3 new signings would play in the 3 midfield roles. Honeyman and Slater would drop to the bench. It's a long season and Traore's injury record ain't great so everyone will still get plenty of game-time. Well, apart from Doch
5 potential starters competing for 3 midfield shirts (when all are fit) is about par for the course in most aspiring championship squads isn't it?
Looks like we're signing 3 but it's only 1 more in number than last years squad as we've lost Smallwood and Thudd. You'd think though, ignoring potential injuries that Doc would be the one finding it hardest to get game-time.
Yeah I think he’ll struggle, he won’t want to be getting splinters. From what we’ve seen l1 is his level
Such a vital player for us and such a grafter real shame he never quite kicked on like most thought he would
I think he would of done given another season and if we where still under allam ownership I think he'd get that season. Peterborough have made tentative enquiries and a SPL team
Why don't we just sell the Posh a job lot of players, Wilks, Doch, & Tyler Smith. McCann would be chuffed and he could pickup Smallwood on a Bosman free.
"City expect a bumper summer of recruitment to aid their hopes of challenging towards the top of the Championship, and Kesler says while the club will look to benefit from increased sponsorship income, the majority of Shota Arveladze's transfer budget will come from owner Acun Ilicali, though he stopped short of putting a figure on the number of incomings he expects. "No, not right now. Maybe we'll explain when the players start arriving. Let's leave a little surprise. When the players come, I think what kind of investment we will make will be revealed. We will put in the extra capital and use it for the transfers. Therefore, our plan is to invest in the new players who will come here and keep the structure outside of it with sponsors and other incomes. So yes, we will use our own capital for this. "We started working to increase revenues. Therefore, we are trying to increase revenues with sponsorships. For example, we started with Corendon Airlines. They give us planes as our travel sponsors. They believed in our project a lot. At the same time, they are investing with us. We are building a Corendon Lounge in the stadium where we can host our Turkish audience. At the same time, there is a demand for the back of the jersey, shorts, training jersey, all of these. We are currently meeting at the table with some important brands of Turkey." Sounds like we've got a few sponsors from Turkey lined up to advertise with us, there's a real link forming here which can only benefit the commercial side of the club. It also sounds like we're not pulling any punches when it comes to signing players, certainly more so than we've been used to in the last five years or so.
I saw somewhere that they are building a Corendon Airlines lounge at the stadium to host fans from Turkey. Efes was another brand Acun mentioned at the night with him at the KC.
Shirts at our level really don't make to much money, well not the kind of money needed to sign players. Let's say the club makes £40 profit from the shirts ( which i doubt it does ) they'd have to sell 10k shirts to make £400k OLM will probably have a better idea on the kind of profit the club may be making.
I think this sums Tyler Smith up. He fit our requirements because he was practically free at a time when we couldn't spend money on players, McCann seemed to want something different to the big strikers we had and he gave us that, but it was always a gamble to expect someone so cheap to transform our attack. For a young player under contract to be available for a nominal fee from a club in the same division really suggests he was unlikely to ever be good enough.
I think we got a deal on a prospect because Sheff U needed to trim the fat a bit on coming down. He's still that. A prospect. Never was going to be the finished article. I'd loan him to L1. See how he does.
He’d had a half decent season at Swindon I think the season before, if he can get out on loan and do well then who knows, but I can’t see him coming back unless he sets the league below alight.
