So this is is no help at all today, but I just had dinner with Henrik Kraft’s best mate (also a swede). He’s just invested in a business that I’m now the MD of, so we will be seeing outs of each other. Nothing worse than a fake ITK, but I will see what I can find out. Promise not to make stuff up!
No nothing to do with that. Was more about Ralph trying to get square pegs into round holes. I’ve always thought it’s better to work with a colleagues attributes rather than mould him. Of course you can argue the the opposite but I’d look at the pudding!
Huh? I’m sure this was a genuine wish of good luck in your new MD role. I’m not sure how you seem to have read this as a negative sentiment. Blimey
Nathan Redmonds agent is at the ground today Apparently is also agent to a lot of premier league younger players
Personally I don’t think any of them are good enough, but we can’t get rid of all of them. Selling two would be ok, I’d let djenepo and Theo go. But that’s dependent on anyone wanting them.
It was quite a flippant comment…. But he’s one that’s confused me over the years and although I know everyone sees things differently, I think he’s flattered to deceive. With the young, talented and English credentials as well as playing well in a lower league and being talked up as a star for the future, it’s a shame it’s not really gone much further. We’ve all wanted him to succeed, including me, but despite long periods of support from managers and supporters alike, he’s never really converted this into anything medium term let alone long term. I see him similar to Forster in the sense of over the course of his contract(s) over the years-how well has he actually played well for… as in proper, match winning performances. He strikes me as indicative of the situation we find ourselves in as a club, too nice to be brutally honest about how good, bad or indifferent some of our footballers are. For me, I’d rather try someone with genuine potential to make a difference rather than someone’s who’s level I see as the Championship. Buts as mentioned… I know others will see it differently and I respect that.
He is very similar to lots of winger/attacking mids who have played for the lesser teams in the PL. on his day he is fantastic but his day is few and far between really, many more average - poor performances over the course of a season than good ones. The more consistent players in these positions end up at the top teams, although on his day Redmond is probably good enough to play for one of them
When Redmond is good he can change a game, create and score. Just a shame its only 2 out of 38 he does it in. Nice lad but wouldnt care if he leaves. Ely is to slow for the prem , and Djenepo is about as useful as blind lifeguard.
I actually don’t disagree with this though (I know you are joking). He has all the tools to be very good, but it doesn’t look like he knows what he’s doing 90% of the time. He’s been here 3 years now and should’ve pushed on so it’s time for him to move on but wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up having a good career elsewhere.
I'm really disappointed he hasn't kicked on from the promise he showed in his first season. Those goals against Brighton and Sheffield United were fantastic.
