Some of the comments on Twitter RE that bogus Defoe story in the Northern Echo, that has absolutely no new quotes or anything and has just twisted what LJ said mid week, are absolutely ridiculous, people just reacting to Scott Wilson’s tweet without opening it

I would like to see Defoe end his career helping us , but its not a massive issue if they can't make it work as I trust the new recruitment team . New arrivals don't always fit in ,and its a completely different set up from the one he left . He was a brilliant signing, I may be wrong but he didn't hit the ground running and took a while to settle. we would need him to start from minute one...so a judgement call is necessary.
Know nothing about the lad, he might be decent but doesn't look to be physically imposing, granted he's about 6ft but looks lightweight for this league physically. Interesting to see if we are in for him as he's clearly been well thought of earlier in his career and is still only 21.

He's in the same boat as Pritchard now. Both had huge potential and now rebuilding their careers in league 1 with us. Pritchard has already shown in glimpses his ability is a class above.

If he has been briefed then surely there’s got to be more substance in his story? All he has done is requoted his comments from mid week, he has always been extremely hit or miss for me so like I always do with him I’m taking it with a massive pinch of salt
