Sounds like Sims and Aydogan are both close to signing which I find funny as they seem to be rumours from the two different parallel universes we're living in (no takeover v takeover).

I've been hoping that not every player would be foreign we bring in and we do still have LD whose knowledge of domestic leagues appears to be well thought of in the game.

I don't mind the Sims signing but I can't see how he gets into the starting 11 and we've had enough of those last summer.

Don't get me wrong, 1st half of last season in L1 he was one of the best players in there but it depends how he steps up

He’s no better than what we’ve got. Very mediocre. Been at Southampton god know how long and never made it. Played for Donny tho so he should know everyone

Don't we have to get rid of players before signing any, due to the loan embargo re squad size ?
I understand the loan will be repaid when/if the takeover is completed, which hasn't happened yet, So how can we talk of transfers, in our present state ?

If he does go, good luck to Josh. He’s not Championship standard, but he was excellent in League One. Clearly from the clip a well liked member of the squad and a larger than life character.
****ing top draw……..

Sims goes into the category of player known by the current manager.

I like belter the approach of Bloom at Brighton-he is a data driven guy. I read that he and his partner sometime ago bought a Belgium team and asked the present manager what his idea on incoming players were. Managers reply was to reel off names of players he knew, when presented with an alternative data driven method he demurred. Needless to say he was fired. Team has now a manager that agrees and after promotion from the Belgian second division is currently challlenging for the title of the first divison. If you are going to use your capital make sure that its driven by data not a whim.

Seems like its working for Brighton they are punching above their weight.

As an addendumn to my previous post. As opposed to spending money on transfer fees a club like City with al limited budget would perhaps be better off spending money on a decent ananlyst that used data driven methods to unearth potential gems. Maybe they already have one (he may not be very good thats all)

I thought we had advertised a position on about £20k per annum. Maybe that's why we haven't got one?
