I think it's just a bit of fun tbh, I don't think anyone hates the bloke.

Wigan are supposed to be one of our main rivals and no one wants to see him do well.

It's also that he seemed to want away from Sunderland and thinks he's worth more money ...

... without the contributions of McGeady and O'Brien he might not find things so easy this time.

I doubt all of his goals, lined up end to end, would reach the length of the pitch and back.

I know that's a meaningless stat but it shows how much work he had to put in compared to those who set the goals up.
Agree mate it's all done in the best possible taste, plus Wigan need to realise it takes two seasons for him to get up to speed before the goals start coming.:emoticon-0101-sadsm

I couldn't give a feck how good or bad Wyke does this season really. I find it pretty cringeworthy our fans are still singing "Charlie Wyke is f#cking sh#te", during games.
I understood it when we played Wigan but to still be obsessing over him is pretty embarrassing really and makes us look like somebody thats struggling from being dumped by an ex girlfriend/boyfriend, so theyve turned nasty on them because they are still hurting and refusing to let go.

I am not particularly bothered about Wyke as I don’t think he will do much anyway but Grigg I hope he does s hit wherever he goes because that’s what he deserves,Mind I will still look every week to see how they compare to Ross.

Wigan Athletic striker Charlie Wyke will not be available for selection for the immediate future.

The 28-year-old collapsed during training in the build up to Latics’ Sky Bet League One match at Cambridge United and, after receiving treatment from the Club’s medical staff, Charlie was taken to hospital where he continues to be monitored.

We are pleased to say Charlie is in a stable condition and is in communication with his family, hospital staff and the Club’s medical team.

Charlie will continue to be monitored closely by an independent medical consultant and the Club’s medical staff over the next few days.

Wigan Athletic Chief Executive, Mal Brannigan, said:

“First and foremost, the absolute priority for everyone associated with Wigan Athletic is Charlie’s health and wellbeing and providing support to him and his family.

“As a Club, we would like to place on record our sincere appreciation to all of the staff within the NHS who, within what we know are challenging times, were excellent in their response and subsequent care for Charlie, working together with our medical team.

“Clearly this news will cause alarm, though we would politely request that the privacy of Charlie and his family is respected. At the appropriate time, we will look to provide further updates to our supporters.”
