That second goal yesterday, Wyke hits that along the deck into the keepers feet every time, that’s if he gets a shot off as LND had 2 touches before he hit it, Wyke second touch usually an air ball. Stewart wins headers and directs them, and he is on the move after he gives the ball. He’s an upgrade in every conceivable way, and he’s improving.
Don't sweat it mate and don't try to change, whatever's comfortable for you. If that means sending it to an on-line proof reader just do it. If you came from a school where knuckles were rapped, with a ruler, for writing left handed and dyslexia was considered witchcraft it's no surprise. I'm bored with being told it's cool to use trendy abbreviations or that I should change with the times ... ... balls to that, as that great philosopher, Popeye, once said ... please log in to view this image "I yam what I yam and that's all what I yam," (Shyte, is it left handed or should it be left-handed ... I'll check.)
Has Wyke actually scored this season? I was having a conversation earlier this week with another SAFC fan and we both concluded/agreed that a lot of this years improved players were killed off last season due to some of the senior pros (now all playing for Wigan) need to play in a certain way. Wyke snuffed out Ross Power snuffed out a lot of the young guns as his leadership style was to bollock them if they made a mistake - Jack Diamond is still suffering from decision making. Ollie Younger I believe was substituted at half time on his debut - watch it back and see Power getting stuck into him for nothing. Jones would avoid passing to Winchester. So glad LJ took a brave decision and got rid of them plus McFaz, Scowen (who I won't criticise for effort), and the others.
I dont think McFadzeen ever hid, he just wasnt very good. Just so happy we are going down this route, sick of us paying over the top for chod
i think it was what he was waiting for, rare you see the 'core' of a team sent packing in such numbers...so far, it has proved to be a good move.
I said to my mate on Sat (and may have said it on here already) that Ross Stewart won more headers on Sat than Wyke did in his 3 seasons here. He is a massive, massive upgrade
And when he wins them, he directs them. That’s the bigger think. Wyke only ever helped the ball on or forward.
Very early days and I am in no way suggesting he is this good, but I get Niall Quinn vibes from Ross Stewart...........
One thing I noticed on Saturday, which I have not seen anybody comment on, was his willingness to chase and tackle their defenders when they had the ball on the halfway line. Winning most of the tackles hence cutting off any chance of them mounting any attack. Wyke would have been standing still twenty yards away.
As of this season, where we are desperate for promotion isn't enough... we now it seems have a side issue... The Loch Ness Drogba v Lurch Wyke had a great goalscoring time for us last season with Mcgeady in the main supplying the bullets, Wyke was very very poor before that. Stewart is more mobile and has better control than Wyke. Stewart is also scoring goals without Mcgeady being fully functioning yet. So atm it is looking as if we have made the right bet on strikers... Time will tell... Ps Embleton and Neil in midfield ( 2 homegrowners) are better than we had last season as well.
This all day for me, we have an embarrassing amount of talent at the managers disposal. Onwards and upwards hhhhaaawwwwwaaaaaayyyyyyyy the lads
Almost proving the argument that McGeady needs Wyke as much as the other way around though. 0 assists for McGeady and 0 goals for Wyke. (Not necessarily saying that is the case btw, just that neither player has done as well so far this season without their counterpart) said this before but Stewart has everything Wyke did last season and also probably everything he didn’t in his touch, passing, heading, finishing, hold up, pace. Long may it continue
I personally don't think McGeady needs Wyke, I just think McGeady has been mediocre at best this season. I've said it before, I know McGeady has it were he can produce that bit of magic out of nothing, but I think Johnson needs to be brave and maybe think about bringing him off or even resting him when he's in this kind of form
