Aye mate. It definitely would have been beneficial to open the club shop.

Was a bit surprised there was less than 800 there, but as you say, there were a few first-timers. Hopefully we can get the crowds up above 1,000 again. Atmosphere is normally better at Eppleton mind.

Saw one lass with a Sunderland Top with Grigg on the back. If I'd had some tomatoes, I would've pelted her with them! <laugh>
Fingers crossed there are more games at the SoL.
They should also let fans know that the ticket row and seat no means nowt as it's a 'sit anywhere' arrangement. When I bought mine they were for the East stand <laugh> it would save the stewards a bit of grief as a few arrived late expecting to sit where they had bought tickets for (which isn't unreasonable btw) but it would be nice to tell fans beforehand as quite a few had young kids and a few had walking sticks/crutches so I assume they picked a specific seat so they didn't have to gan all the way to the back row.

Their left back was on toast. She got booked and was either going to be sent of or subbed off, and it only took about 25 mins for her to get the hook. Neve Herron was excellent and Farrugia ran and ran all game. We dug in second half, glad they kept the clean sheet.

It was quite amusing to see a few people trying to bring cans of Carling up to their seats and the stewards turning them back. Must have been first timers into the SoL.

Hopefully they play a few more games there. They will have made a few quid from that, loads of bairns buying food, pop and sweets. If they opened the club shop, even just for an hour or so they would have definitely made money as well.
Went with youngest son and 3 grandchildren. Enjoyed the game and thought the 2 centre halves were solid, right winger had a good first half and the centre forward led the line well and scored the second. The little lass on the left looked lost at first but got into the game more and more (sorry, don't know the names).

Charlotte Potts is a cracking CH for us. On our left do you mean the LB or the LW? Griffiths was our LB, she was class; especially second half. The winger on our left was Joice I think. And we were missing our skipper Ramshaw today

That's a good point. I could see the sense in having people in one section of the ground, to generate an atmosphere, but it was a case of 'pick a seat between 'here and there.'

Some were coming in at 5mins to KO expecting (quite rightly) to be in the 'front row' (of the upper block) in the seat they bought. Sorry, ain't happening get yersel to row 35 <laugh>. It's just a bit of communication and courtesy from the club, it wouldn't take much tbf. I only found out everyone was moved to the West stand by chance; I happened to check the e ticketing site to see how sales were going and it showed the West stand on sale. The tickets I bought were in the East stand. Nee comms from the club or owt about the change. <laugh>

I wonder if the club have thought about trying to get these games on before the lads games. Say 12pm kick off and get a few more through the turnstiles. In the same way the cricket hundred women’s games were in before the gents and they got much better attendance from it.

would be class for the lasses to play in front of bigger crowds.

Left Wing, very slight girl. The Left Back had a shaky start defensively but got better as the half went on and, as you say, had a really good second ha defensively, making a few crunching tackles.

Abby Joice is the little winger. She grew into the game and both her and Neve Herron got us up the park in the second half, when we were struggling to get out.
Apart from misjudging a bouncing ball in the first few minutes, I thought Griffiths was excellent today.

The youth team feed into the men's first team, so I have a reason to follow them.

I know these are the Sunderland Ladies team, but I view women's football as a totally separate sport and just have no interest in it.

It is nice to hear about the ladies team doing well but when Sunderland had an ice hockey team it was nice to hear about them doing well too, yet otherwise I had no interest in them.

I don't have a lot of interest in any women's sport apart from beach volleyball, which I know says a lot about me of which I'm ashamed, but,I do feel a big sense of pride when our lasses team does well.

I hate the way that the BBC Sports app mixes women's football in with the men's and you look at a headline like 'Chelsea stunned by Arsenal fightback' and I end up doing a double take before finally twigging on that it is the WSL rather than The Premiership.

I'm just as irritated by the BBC Sports app putting Scottish premiership results in between The (English) Premiership and The Championship.

Why can't I just filter out what I am not interested in?

Does anyone know of a better app for football (ie one that will allow me to screen out Scottish and women's football?
